I saw this on the internet and I have been having SI problems and wanted to share stories with others that have the same problems. A lot of people who don't have these problems dont't understand the pain and frustration. Sharon

Follow thru with surgery?
After a particularly painful recurrence of arm & shoulder pain since herniating a cervical disc 8+ years ago, I located a highly respected minimally invasive surgeon. He says I'm a candidate for a minimally invasive foraminotomy on my C6-C7 correlating with my symptoms. That was a few weeks ago. Now I'm scheduled for surgery (out of state) and my symptoms have eased significantly with the exception of some tingling and numbness. Trying to figure out if I should go thru with it or wait. This has been my off & on pattern. Symptoms return. I do everything but surgery and eventually get better.

I had cervical radiculopathy and it gets worse unless you do physical therapy

I originally joined NeuroTalk back in August and was trying to make contact with anyone who had recent spine surgery for spondylolisthesis (L5/S1) with severe nerve compression in the L5 root. The L5 vertebrea got fractured at some point (I'm not sure how) and, over the years I've developed a grade II slippage that has begun to damage a nerve. It is painful, but it's not the pain I want to manage....it's the actual nerve damage. (I'm now trying decompression therapy with a chiropracter). Anyway, my neurosurgeon says I am a candidate for spinal fusion of the L5/S1 vertebra. Supposedly, if successful, the outcome will be relief of the nerve pressure and hopefully allow my right leg to return to normal. I've got some muscle issues now because the nerve is not transmitting the proper signals to the calf muscle...and this condition just worsen's with time. If you or a member you know of, had this condition, I hope you will respond when you have time.
