Just wanted to let anyone who was interested know about my husband. I posted awhile back, looking for info to help him fight a neurologist's diagnosis of TIA that had lost him his pilot's license. His symptoms were two brief episodes of blurred vision that the ophthalmologist that he saw that day diagnosed as migraine aura without headache. After a lot of testing including an MRI, ultrasound of his heart, carotid artery ultrasound etc. he saw another neurologist. By that time I had piled up a LOT of research stating that you couldn't diagnose a TIA (transient ischaemic attack or "mini stroke") from just his particular symptoms. Fortunately the new neurologist (with the help of a very knowledgeable and enthusiastic resident) quickly came to the same conclusion and he is now happily flying again. The silver lining is that we know from the many app'ts and tests that he is as healthy as a horse!
Thank you to the posters on this site who were so helpful, wish I had access to the old Braintalk so I could know your names. |

Wendy,
That's great news. I'm happy things worked out for you and hubby. Don't know whether I was a responder to your post, but I do remember reading it. Rowland |

HI Wendy,
Yes, I do recall the original post. My first reaction was*****Sure hope they get another opinion as the first one sounded shakey at best. So may people have the MD behind the name, but a dirth of them would have served us better if they had taken up plumbing or mind reading. Speaking of the mind, what I have always found interesting is how different the nuero's diognosis can be while coming from the same set of basic facts. Almost like using the old dart board. I am sure both you and hubby are relieved and pleased that things are back to normal. Just remember**don't hang your hat on any single opinion. My best to you both. Jim |
