I know who those two lovely people are...if they weren't so busy getting ready I bet they'd pop in and say howdy!

I don't have a lot of luck trying to add urls....

http://www.besmark.com/index.html

I was looking for an old civil war song my dad used to sing and I think I found it.

I didn't know where to post this but it occurs to me that most of our threads are off topic...if all we talked about was suicide it would be hopefully, a very inactive forum.

There is always "that elephant" in this room....we always had more lurkers than posters in this forum but we have surely learned a lot from each other.

Whether we have lost a loved one to suicide or are feeling suicidal ourselves...this is the place to talk about it because we really do "get it".

Hugs for the room.

Oh, and I'm going to N.Y.for several days so don't have too much fun without me.

Please remember: To be angry is natural. To be angry at ourselves and others is normal. But to be so angry at another that you turn this awesome aggressive power on yourself is neither natural nor normal. It is, rather, an expression of the formula that frustration leads to anger leads to aggression.
And if you are not careful and smarter than the average bear, you may become a victim of it.

So before you kill yourself to "show" someone just how mad you are at them, consider that, should you succeed, your suicide will have created nothing, contributed nothing, and changed nothing. True, you will have made a statement about how angry you were, but ask yourself, "Do I have to say it this way?"

I hope not.

Excerpt from the book "Suicide, The Forever Decision" by Paul Quinnett

I realize I am jumping in here, perhaps where I don't belong. But I think the next question is...afraid of what? Everyone experiences fear in one form or another. And that is not to belittle it, believe me. Fear is a big factor in my life. Fear can paralyze, I know, I have experienced it. That heart pounding fear that will stop you in your track. Then there are other fears. Like fear of what the future holds, fear that pain will never end, fear of becoming non-functional whether that be physically, or mentally, or emotionally, or all of these. Some of us have a harder time facing fear than others of us. That is the beauty of being able to form a human chain of hands reaching for hands. At least, here, there is no fear of rejection, no judgement. Or, at least, I hope so. So, whoever may read this, I hope you will reach out that hand through whatever fear there may be. Because, somehow it can be worked through, one baby step at a time. OK, I am through ranting. Lots of for anyone, and everyone, those I know, and those I don't know, and those I am getting to know...
