Heart We got the meat(beef)!!! LOL

well, the Alphos are on their way home as I type here...

We are so glad, honored, and happy to have this couple of weeks with them...

To explain the title of this thread...

few years ago, when the wifey and I were just friends...we went to ful-fill a promised wish of a friend that had just passed away...and the Alphos invited us...

now, the wifey had never met them prior to that and I had once when the Alphos visited merewood and me a few months before then...

So, we flew into Chicago, drove to the alphos and the traffic was so horrible that instead of a 2 hour trip, it turned into almost 5 hours...

we didn't get to the Alphos until almost 11pm and they WAITED for us to have their dinner...now, they are early birds so they go to bed early...this is to show you the kind of people that they are!!

we finally arrived and everyone was hungry...

Mrs. Alpho made her famous Caesar Salad and ***** soupie(will have to let her explain that soup! LOL) And we chowed down...I was so hungry and thinking to myself, wow, I hope the main meal comes out soon...but I kept on eating the salads...

when I was on my third bowl of salad...Mr. Alpho finally asked...

"Where is the MEAT????????"

to which Alpho replied..."what meat? this is dinner!!!!"

We all just busted out laughing and it was a good thing that Alpho made some delicious chocolate pie to satisfy Mr. Alpho...

of course, over the years, we have not let Alpho live it down and we teased her dearly...LOLOLOL

So, they had us over Thurs night and they invited a couple of their friends that lived near here...

and of course, Alpho, the wonderful wonderful cook, made ***** Soupie again and a cous cous/asparagus salad...

but this time, it was followed by MEAT! My gosh, juicy delicious steaks topped with mushroom sauce.....

so tender, and juicy, and moist...oh boy...

to those that like sweet taters, Alpho's ***** Soupie is made with sweet taters and it is simply delicious...

I only had one serving of salad this time cause I knew we were going to have meat...LMAO...

then, she topped it all off with baked meringue topped with whipped creme dressed with blue berries and a sauce made of raspberries...

*drooool...

on a personal note...thank you so much, the Alphos...I was struggling with a few things...it was good to see you guys, getting it off my chest...and I feel truly blessed...

We are very lucky...miss you guys already...

What a sweetheart you are for this heartfelt thank you. Big hugs to both of you and a safe trip home for Mr. and Mrs. Alffe.

What a wonderful time you've had !! And I'm certain the Alffes have had a marvelous time too.
It's sure going to be grand to have Mrs. Alffe back here.

Ya'll know that it's impossible to "outnice" the moi's. Part of it is a cultural thing and throw in the southern hospitality and you're just left "sucking hind tit" to use that old farm phrase.

We flew in here just ahead of a big snow...which is pretty to look at but scarey to land on. Our friends from St.Simon Isl. called shortly after we got home to say they want to make it a yearly thing....adored the Moi's.. and the whole area they live in...we knew they would!

It's Sunday so I can't go to Curves, should go to Church but mostly..I want Mr.Alffe to go get Cooper as soon as the place opens!! Can't hardly wait to see him.
