I got the wondeful opportunity a few months back to see Jordan Burnham (young adult motivation speaker and suicide survivor) speak at a conference. The Ganley Foundation created this video and is a great resource for anyone wanting information about suicide. http://www.ganleyfoundation.com/

The videos are 13 minutes long in total but split in 2 parts. Definitely a must watch, and the highlight of that entire day. His story definitely changed me and impacted me profoundly. I hope it does for you too!

Thank you so much for this link..............I am currently awaiting [in three months...i will know my lot..............] the restructure of my company....in which my current job ...will no longer exist.

I will have to re-apply for a role in the new re-structure....this means competeing against current managers and my peers for similar roles.[redundancy is a huge possibility]

Over many months i have been looking for a way out of working for THE MAN [so to speak/bosses]

Seeing these videos re-enforces my belief there is an oppotunity to spread the message of hope [from my own experiences] and survive the future.

I had a terrible day at work.....took time off.....................returned to work.....THEN .....sudden interest in my well being by my employer .................'what can we do to help; [said my employer]
;i want to speak to a doctor who will listen to me...& see me as a person...holistically & hear what I'm saying [i said]

and I asked to be seen by an occupational health practitioner.

Well i went today!...............


Wonderful man.................listened.......[heard] .............................offered support ...empathy...hope...etc.....................

Last week we were told are company will re-struxture [second time in 4 years]

My role is no longer ................gone,,,,,,,,,,,

We basically all have to apply for all jobs..[ all competing against each other]


I'M fogged out .......................dont want to think about it,,,,,,,,,,,,


Wishnomores thread was inspirational...................i no longer want to work for anyone.................i have ideas [many already in use by local government=stolen from my place of work..my ideas]


It was pretty rough today ..........talked about things i had forgotten...[burried]

It was suggested i return in one month to see him again [my only concern now is during the future selection process this may ? be held against me....and it has not been ruled out by my current line manager ......and i asked for this to happen...........grrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Addy...baby steps has been my mantra for many years...[wise words dear friend thank you]

Hi David! I am so glad you enjoyed the videos and that you found them inspirational! I am also very sorry that you had a tough time speaking to someone that brought up lots of buried feelings, and especially sorry about the tough time at work you are having. My work is going through budget cuts and we're being told we all may be shut down in about one year, so while I can't know what you're feeling, I know it must be awful! But please don't ever give up, and working through your problems is going to be really hard and rough - that's why sometimes you may feel worse after going to speak to someone, but hopefully with time will get much better. So many people here are always willing to help, i hope today is a better day for you!
