I wonder why it is that not a single person can comprehend why I got so incredibly sad today when I finally got my teaching certificate.

the wonders of bug bites
 

i wonder if alffe got bitten by a spider. their bites tend to swell into hard lumps (looks kinda like a mosquito bite, but feels harder.) and can itch like mad.

i wonder if alffe knows to check her whole body for ticks if she thinks she might have been exposed... the dang things tend to latch on... and you don't feel them.

i wonder if alffe knows waves got bitten by a tick before ... it was not noticeable or swollen, then after several days/ week, the area discolored (purplish) with a red ring around it. presentations vary with ticks. the ring is typical but do not wait for that. examine your swelling to see if there is any bit of animal still attached or burrowed - if so, see a doc right away. chances of contracting illness from ticks is proportional to amount of time tick was attached. you may also want to see a doc if you can clearly identify 2 punctures at the center of the swelling (arachnid bite - spider, tick, etc) rather than 1 puncture (insect bite).

i don't wonder - because i'm sure alffe knows - lots of insects can cause swelling and itching, but if the swelling is extensive you should still seek care. if it is nothing complicated they will at least give you antihistamines.

i wonder if anyone has ever seen the movie "Bug?" ughh... i tried, but i couldn't watch it! :o

I wonder what a fabulous lunch Barbo and I had this noon...wonder if I can duplicate that grilled cheese sandwich...pesto, blue cheese, other cheeses, tomato sliced...and great bread..(I bought a loaf) and I made pesto from my sweet basil in the garden..great suggestion Barbo!!

i wonder if i can ask Alffe PLEASE to call her doctor's office tomorrow regarding a suspect tick bite - and tell them about the "thing" in the center as well as your symptoms - you may need to be seen depending what sorts of infections are carried by the critters in your area. (the health professionals will know).

i wonder if Mr.Alffe saved the "dark thing" he took out -- my best guess is it was the head of a tick... useful for identification/dx. spiders don't leave pieces parts behind, they just inject toxins and skidaddle.
