Default Mommas often know best

Daughter Booboo is (has gone) back to Sioux City this weekend because her father and family are flying back again for some todo with his father's death...again.

Anyway, they wanted her to go over there last night. It's a 3+ hour drive.

The weather seemed okay, but they kept saying on the news that a snow storm would go through later and to be very careful on the commute home.

So I checked everything out and I told Booboo, no I begged her...PLEASE don't leave tonight, the roads will be bad.

After work she called and said "I'm going momma, the roads are fine and it isn't snowing here."

This was like 6:30 pm, and I said, "PLEASE don't go tonght, wait until the morning!" "OH MOM!" she said, "I"ll be fine!"

An hour or so later my cell phone rings, it's Booboo, and she says "MOMMA! I'm turning around! Their are cars in the ditches everywhere and I just saw one go in a river!"

I'm like...frozen to the spot with fear.

She called hubby, and he said, "GET OFF THE PHONE, TURN AROUND, AND GET YOUR *** HOME!"

So she did.

This morning she calls me on her way again. She said cars were in the ditch everywhere, and one she saw, where she made her call to me, an SUV was on TOP of another car on its side.

Her father and family, who flew in at 11 pm, called her and told her it took them until 3:30 am to make it from Omaha to Sioux City and they saw 'hundreds' of cars off the road.

Booboo said to me this morning, "Momma, I'll take you a little more seriously from now on."

Oh I hope she made it back home safely Doody. These storms are really something..winter so late in coming and now won't quit. I think people have forgotten how to drive on ice and snow.

Next time maybe she'll listen to her mama!

Yes, she made it home safely and left again yesterday morning. She'll be back late this afternoon.

I stayed at their house last night to babysit bubba while daddy went to a friend's birthday party. Daddy put him to bed so I wouldn't have to carry bubba around.
