The triple whammy of horrific physical pain, career wiped away, and crushing economic loss clearly brought me to the brink so I echo thoughts and experiences shared here. The allure of thinking from a perspective of the deceiver is the lull that the family will be better off, at least economically, without the "me" in that situation. A terrible self lie ...... the remembrance of which brings feelings of regret I felt so at loss at the time.
