Wow, Alffe! I just read it and I'm stunned -- this description fits my mindset preceding my attempt to a tee! It's actually frightening!!

while i generally subscribe to "owning one's actions" there are circumstances which really push the envelope with that concept for me, and create a grey area. this is one of those cases. i feel that this wasn't, completely, a suicide. those bullies killed him. how? if you'll excuse the metaphor, he didn't leap off the cliff. he got pushed so close that at one point he lost his footing, slipped, and fell. if my metaphor happened in real life it would be considered an accident. but the aggression wouldn't. to the point of endangering life wouldn't. i bet those bullies would be up for manslaughter charges. Jamey was committed to life. i grieve for him and for his family. i hope he has found the peace he so deserves, in a new dimension. |

Every 15.2 minutes someone completes suicide.
Every 15.2 minutes someone else is left to make sense of it. Every day approximately 80 Americans take their own life, and 1,500 more attempt to do so. Suicide is the third leading cause of death among 15-24 year olds. Among young people aged 10-14 the rate has doubled in the last two decades. Suicide is the 11th leading cause of death in the U.S.; homicide ranks 15th. One out of every 65 Americans is impacted by suicide.
