Our cats have been wonderful companions! If you get a kitten, and give it affection, play with it, talk to it, it will return your
efforts several times over! They love you, but don't demand as much as a dog does. While the tone of the videos I put up today, is somber, that is not really what cats can be like. It is "artistic license" from the person making the video. The kitty in the video is a "tuxedo" cat, and we have one like it with shorter fur. Houdini is her name and she is very loving, calm and laid back. She is the gentlest cat we've ever had. So the trait in the videos is basically calm and easy to live with. Not depressive at all. In fact every day she makes us laugh and smile, and my husband is totally smitten with her. He carries her around like a baby and fawns over her.(after his initial grumpus opinion--"we don't need another CAT"). You can see our cats past and present in my Album profile here. They are in all 3 CATegories!

((Lonely1)) Depression just plain sucks. I even remember being depressed as a child. Always intermingled with the happy times, of course. Seems I never have quite an even keel. Highs, lows, and rarely just smooth blue seas. But, yeah...I find my animals are a treasure. They really do know when you feel like crap...and try to comfort you in their own way.
But then along with that comes the stinky cat litter box, vet visits, food and general care, LOL! So whaddaya gonna do!
