I wonder how much more my family can take....

I wonder this time it's not my direct family, it's my Aunt's (by marrage).
Her father passed away on Sunday. This is the Aunt in California that sat for hours on end with my niece until my sister could get to California and then sat with my sister until my niece passed.

I wonder that it is a blessing that my parents are out in California and I'm sure they are doing everything they can do for my Aunt and Uncle.
My mom always says that my Aunt is like a sister to her.

I wonder that even though I never met the man... my heart aches for my Aunt.

I wonder to those in the postcard exchange... I promise to get some out soon..... it may take me a little longer than I would like.

:hug::hug::hug::hug::hug::hug::hug::hug::hug::hug:
Hugs for all,
Abbie

Hi lara

I wonder about the folks on the East coast of the USA right now too. We don't get alot of information on weather in Austrailia. I live in a hurricane prone area too, a barrier Island. It is not fun at all, to watch these storms come in. It could have been me, my neighbors, and my home. It is all very scarry. My Aunt lives on the boot, buzzards bay in Ma. That state got hit too, and so did her neighborhood. I wish you well in your neck of the world. I hope you stay safe, and that mother nature calms down. ginnie

I wonder if I can just leave some thanks to ginnie for thinking of me/us here down under. All is fair here for the time being. Thank you. Our real summer storms are yet to arrive. Biggest threat at present is the bush fires. We've had La Nina doing her thing and flooding out the place and now there's so much growth in the bush that it's a real problem. However, it's always been this way with the cycles of drought and flooding so we just have to prepare. It's already feeling like summer in my part of the world but not technically until 1st of December.

I wonder if I can just send a huge YAY!!! about something. ;)

I wonder if I can send special thoughts to dear Abbie and Jaded. I also want to send my love to Addie. Well done, and I was so happy to hear of your visit with sis and your concert trip. Think of you often.

I wonder about Goofy tonight.

I wonder aboiut Doody and her daughter. Yikes. That doesn't sound very good at her age. Thinking of you all there.

I wonder if I can let you all know that my dear old friend and neighbour whom I often spoke about here is dying and will probably pass on this week. I was able to go visit her and it was pretty tragic for me but she smiled when I touched her and told her who I was. Such a strong and beautiful woman. Such a sense of humour. So sad. *tears

I wonder if you all know I am a global thinker. I keep up with the whole of the news from all over the globe as much as possible. I'm so glad I'm an Aussie. We tend to do that.

I wonder about Koala and how she's doing heading towards summer in tassie.

and the good news is...

Uni semester is finished this evening! Last work submitted 2 hours ago. My daughter has done so well. She's doing summer classes though so she's only got like a week and a half off. ugh Love her dearly. We are both so tired. lol She thinks it's just her, but it's me too!

I wonder if Addy and Lara knows how much i appreciate them thinking about me

I'm wondering about a ton of stuff this day....... whether i should take music theory 2. my professor is letting me sit in on music theory 1 and i have learned so much but i just dont have the time it takes to do all the homework.

I wonder about my speaking engagement to the 9th grade girls about self injury. Hope i can make a difference in at least one persons life.

wondering about our upcoming Christmas concert with the symphonic choir i sing with.... we have some amazing songs this year.

Wonder if my son is serious about changing his major from vocal music performance to vocal music/ ministry. he says he wants to become a minister

I wonder if i can leave hugs for my family here. i know the upcoming holidays are hard for many of us. this is the time of the year i tend to get majorly depressed. Thank God for my totally awesome psychologist and a wonderful understanding, supportive husband..... I am blessed

Hi Lara

Of course it is good when we all think "global" We are a small planet and interconneted in ways we really don't even think about. Stay safe in your summer time. Keep us informed. I am glad to meet you this way. We are all brothers and sisters. Much love sent to your home land. ginnie:hug:

Alffe 11-08-2012 12:22 PM

I wonder about our small planet....

I wonder if anyone here listened to NPR Diane Rehm show today about global warming....

I wonder how shocked Cassie was at the two huge turkeys that wandered into her yard...they were after the dried corn under the squirrel feeder...it took her several minutes to decide to chase them....:D

I wonder about the turducken I ordered today....loved it before, probably will again...

I wonder if Goofy knows how much I admire her for sharing her experiences with the kids.....

I wonder if I can leave hugs for the room. :grouphug:

Hi Alffe

I wonder how people can't know about global warming. It is fact, not fiction. I live in SW Fla. on an Island and have for 17 years. I am moving, or trying to sell my home as the ocean level IS rising. If you go to the beach over the years, and watch this first hand, fact would be clear. Millions are spent down here in beach renourishment, as we are a tourist destination. In just a few years, sometime less we are back to square one. I don't think new homes should be permitted here, or higher density of people. We should be heading inland, as I am going to do. NYC is a good indicator as well as NJ. One hit here, and we will look just like that....We need to think clearly globally on better directions. Thanks for bringing this up Alffe, it needs to be on our radar. ginnie:hug:

On todays show she interviewed this author...Barbara Kingsolver: "Flight Behavior"
November 8, 2012

Barbara Kingsolver talks with Diane about her 14th book, a novel set in Appalachia. It traces the unforeseen impact of global concerns on the ordinary citizens of a rural community and how they are forced to come to terms with their changing place in a larger

I haven't read her book yet but even though it is a novel, the author tries to educate ordinary citizens about what is happening to our planet...in words we can understand.

I wonder when we'll finally get "smart".

ginnie 11-08-2012 06:22 PM

Hi Alffe

I will read that new book. I read the Poisenwood Bible, and know the author. thanks for the information on this book.
If I ever get to move from this place, I am going to buy inland, and build a small Katrina House. They are tiny, but space is well used. Also they are Green, and can run off the grid. Solar for hot water etc. I am sincerely trying to do better about how I use energy, right down to drips from a faucet. If I get another shot at this life, I will do even better to be a conservationist. Had this type of housing been available to me when I came down here, I would have already done that. Our country has not promoted good green techniques, in how we build our homes and the use of energy, it is overdue. Solar is being used in other countries alot more than here. I wonder why???????? I live in fla. how much more sunny do you need it to be?
Let me know if you hear of other books. I soak em up. Have a good night Alffe, I have not stopped praying for your husband. Hope all is OK. ginnie:hug:
