Default Just looking for some support, pretty dark time in my life

Hey everyone, 1st time poster here, names Chris, Male, 29 years old, recently suffered a head injury that messed up my vestibular system (I know there's a tbi forum) just really really struggling with life. The injury happened in October, but I didnt get real bad symptoms till February, been dealing with them since then. I cannot work because I am dizzy most days, losing my house, cant currently drive due to my condition, lost my girlfriend and will have to give up my dogs as well, going to be moving back into my parents. Everything I've built over the past years was taken away from me in a second, and I'm having a tough time dealing with this. I feel like my life has no purpose anymore, all my dreams are gone because of my condition. I talk to a psychologist/mental health counselor, but was looking for some kind of support here. Its just a really really rough time in life.

Thanks all

Hi Chris...so sorry you are going through this. You are definately on a rugged path my friend....emotions can be like swimming in a stormy sea tossing us about to and fro. I am happy to read that you have support from family. That can make all the difference if you will allow it to. Finding meaning in our lives is crucial to feelings of self worth. Start small allowing your heart and mind to reach beyond yourself and your own difficulties...to help someone else...that will distract the mind and feed the heart and make you feel better about yourself....don't allow yourself to take on the role of the victim....praying for you to find strength and to be inspired with ways to start healing....

Thank you for the kind words mis, it means a lot that you can come to a place when needing support and a total stranger is willing to give it to you no matter what. Your words do truly mean a lot and I am grateful that I am in your prayers, lord knows I need them

Sounds like your having a torrid time but remember one thing , you are blessed because you can return home to parents who love you, understand you and care for you.

And when life deals you devasting blows who better to have your back...
It may not be ideal, and yes you feel Loss

But stay strong look up.....and learn a new YOU

It may take months, years, but we start with the first DAY of our excepting of a new difference, it’s just our chance to become another person, and in a better way.

Don’t grieve to much on what’s lost, embrace what could be new and make you whole in a new way.

Take everyday as it comes Chris , baby steps everyday...keep putting one foot in front of the other.....and take care of YOU

Completely understand what you are going through. Concussions in 2013 had me questioning that as well.
I still have ptsd from those days. The migraines that would last 2-3 days at a pain level 10, the fatigue, brain fog and exercise Intolerance.
Stay at it, most of your symptoms will probably improve through time. It took me about 2-3 years to be 90 percent recovered. The 10 percent of lingering stuff (exercise intolerance, bumps to head and heat intolerance) I’ve mostly gotten used to at this point.
