Sam,

Sorry this has been such a difficult year. Anniversaries of traumatic events can take their toll mentally and emotionally. Try to look on this new year as one of fresh starts, one where you think you may have found a possible cause for at least some of your issues. Work on this with your Primary Doctor.

Try to keep up with improving by yourself, strengthening your Core, by following the good advice your friends here have given. Above all else, try to think positive.

Dave.

Hi Sam,
I've been away for awhile, having a down time of my own, but I've been thinking about you and hoping that your situation is getting better. Just being a teenager is tough enough sometimes even without everything you are dealing with. Just don't lose hope, OK? You are strong and you can do this.

I'm glad to hear that you have been able to talk to your accu-pressurist. Having someone to talk to helps.

Thinking of you and wishing you the best--Cheryl

Hi again everyone,

Thanks for your support and suggestions again, I truely appreciate it.

Anyway, I have another update to share for this "journey".

My mom called my primary doctor and caught him up to speed with everything. She told him how I and other doctors still believe it's a physical issue with my thyroid.

He wants me to do this diet thing where I have a lot of water, protein, fruits and vegetables and stay away from bad stuff etc, for one week, and see how I feel.
And at the end of the week, if I still don't feel better he will send me to a thyroid specialist for them to evaluate me further.

Very happy about seeing someone who specializes in thyroid, however I'm not so supportive of this diet. I've been eating pretty well ever since this all started, I don't remember the last time I've had a can of soda or fast food...

So I don't believe that just one week will "ignite my thyroid" as he said.

Also, been sorta down in the dumps lately. Been thinking about how my birthday is 5 days away and I felt this horrible feeling on my last birthday... And nothing has changed in that time. Just depressing.

I've also been starting to notice my increase in anxiety. I have so much anxiety for little things.

sorry for the long post. Just have a lot to say

Hey Sam,

Eating healthy is never a bad thing, I have lost a ton of weight and got my blood sugar under control after falling and busting ribs about 4 months ago, just by eating right.

It is a positive that your GP has agreed to refer you to a Specialist after this week's diet trial. Try to let that alter your mindset so you can look forward to, and enjoy, your birthday. That IS a special event at your age, I hope you can pull round to celebrate it properly. Leave your worries aside for just one day.

Dave.

Hi everyone,

Don't know if anyone checks this thread anymore, but just wanted to give you all an update on whats going on.

So, I STILL haven't gotten treatment for my thyroid. However, my appointment is in 2 weeks.

Basically, my pedatircian is a jerk and only took 2 out of the 6 thyroid tests your suppose to take for hypothyroidism, and he just does not believe I have a thyroid issue.

I'm going to a new place in 2 weeks who apparently is one of the best places to go to if you have a undiagnosed or misdiagnosed thyroid issue.

I cant wait to go here. I will get the CORRECT thyroid tests and treatment. (Pray to god my thyroid will show up on the tests). Trying my hardest to live with this awful depersonalization until then.

Think about you often, Sam.

Shame about the first Dr, but positive news regarding this new Dr and tests in a fortnight.

Hang in there until then. Keep us informed.

Dave.

I hope you get some answers soon.

How are you feeling otherwise? Are you feeling less sad?

Hi Sam, We're still checking in!

Glad to hear you're hanging in there and making some progress in the doctor department. Good luck at your appointment.

Thank you all for still thinking about me truely means a lot knowing I have somewhere to talk to people that care and support me.

Still sad about This all. Cried tonight because I am just so sick of this depersonalization feeling. And My anxiety has definetly gotten worse. I get very anxious and worried over little little things.

School is also still very difficult. Very hard to focus when you don't actually feel like your there. I also am noticing other symtomps which I believe are coming from my thyroid.... Headaches, trouble concentrating, overall "brain fog" all on top of the dreamy/depersonalization feeling.
