Sam, you continue to impress me by your willingness to look at the big picture. I know that you haven't seen any improvement yet, but I think that by taking the approach you have you will begin seeing positive results in the future

Hang in there

Hi guys..

Feeling a little more down and depressed recently. I've been wondering..

When the hell is this going to get better? I just don't even know anymore. I started the supplements for the too high copper levels, I've been going to therapy, I've been trying to distract myself from it, I've been eating better, I've been exercising...

I'm doing everything I should be doing and its not helping one bit. I just don't understand. I desperately want to feel normal again, and if I don't and happen to always stay like this then whats the point of living ?

My grandson, who just turned 16, started being homeschooled since Jr. High because of being bullied. This has it's plus and minus'. He does not have any friends..

He did join the Church Youth Group and has enjoyed doing scripture readings at Mass/service. I asked him the other day if he had met anyone in the youth group that he may have gotten a bit friendly with. He said he had not since many of the them have friends from school.

Sam; I wish you could meet my grandson......loneliness is rough.

I've been having phys ed. class everyday at school. We do anything from just shooting hoops to kickball, all fun games like that.

And at home I've been going for walks, both seem to make my symptoms a bit worse but they never make them better...

Sam,
You mention doing shooting hoops to kickball, all being fun games; but for you they make matters worse. You refer to them as "fun games"; aren't they any fun for you and if not; why do you think they are not fun or enjoyable????

They are very fun, I may not be in the best shape but its still enjoyable to play. They just make my symptoms worse.

Any exercise makes my depersonalization worse, and makes me feel more unreal and like I'm floating, which is extremely unconformable especially for school. Try having to focus while feeling like your in a deep fog all the time...

Sam,

I'm glad you have come where people really care about you and your ongoing struggle.

The fact that you have reached out shows how much you want to get better.

You may have answered this in the past;... have you seen a neurologist since these symptoms of depersonalization began??

Yes I have, back when I was first diagnosed with post concussion syndrome. He thought (and still probably does) think its all concussion symptoms. I saw him continuously for the first year or so, but then I stopped because he really didint have any other ideas for treatment. He tried medications, sending me to other docs, nutrition, exercise, etc. Nothing worked. I remember he wanted to do a vigorous exercise program to help increase the blood flow to my brain and make my brain heal. But I knew that exercise no matter how much I do of it just makes it worse or does nothing.

So here I am now, fast forward to 2016 STILL not better. This whole copper thing is giving me SOME bit a hope but not much. Been taking the supplements to flush out the high copper levels, It's been 2 weeks and no improvement yet.

If the supplements don't work, I honestly would consider suicide at that point. I've tried everything, and all I get is a big fat nothing as a result. I cannot live my life with this extremely uncomfortable feeling in the future. I couldn't even imagine having a job, a family, paying bills, living through my WHOLE life with this feeling? No way.

What's the point of living if it feels like your not?
