Default Suicide, fear and stress

They often go hand in hand. The times I've felt the most suicidal is when I was very afraid and stressed and felt my back was against the wall.

I have found some very powerful destressing techniques that have changed my frame of mind dramatically and have had the very powerful added benefit of reducing my pain levels, also dramatically.

Many advocate for meditation proper and while I think meditation works it's not for everyone and it takes a lot of time and effort for many to get its benefits. I find that learning deep relaxation techniques and simple belly breathing to work wonders in a short time and with minimal but determined effort.

I've spent a lot of time searching for things to help me in this process and I have found some CDs that have been life changing for me in getting a handle on my fear and stress. BTW I think it's pretty reasonable to be afraid and stressed when suffering so, but it's not going to help in the long run.

I like to recommend the CDs by Glenn Harrold. He has a lot of them and you can easily find one that fits your needs. His one called "Heal your Body" is his best IMO. These tapes are used to take one into very profound and deep relaxation. Subliminal messages, spoken word and hypnosis are his technique. I've never been able to go into a hypnotic trance in my life until I came across these CDs. His voice is amazing and puts me into a deeply relaxed state in seconds. When the recording is over I feel renewed and able to think much more rationally about everything from a relaxed state. The more you use them the better they work. (you can find them on Amazon)

While I believe that everyone has the right to choose about suicide for themselves I believe one need be in a calm state of mind to choose rationally. That is often not the case IMO. And if the pain is reduced significantly by becoming calm and relaxed then suicide likely need never be considered.

I can't say these will work for you as dramatically as they have for me but they just may. I use mine several times a day and it's always the best part of my day. My pain levels dropped by half when I realized my pain and fear were driving me as much as my disease and I did something to remedy it.

This may sound weird but had I not gotten this horrible disease I never would have realized that I've been anxious and stressed for much of my life. In some major ways I'm happier now than I ever have been due to this discovery. It's been that powerful for me and I sincerely hope that it may be for you.

Here's a link to his cd on amazon. He has many others and all his cds can be used for deep relaxation.

You really need headphones to make these work. Best of luck.

Default Thank you icelander

That was a very informative post and I'm so glad that works for you. I've always found deep breathing helpful.

Maybe it will be helpful for others on here too. Wouldn't that be great ?

Thanks for the info.

Thanks. I'll check it out. That's a good way to check out his voice I guess. I have about 8 of them and am gifting them to my stressed out friends.
