It sounds like she is being manipulative. That can obviously be be a common feature in addicts, but can also be a common feature in some mental health disorders. Does she have a psych diagnosis?

Did she ever spend time in a psych ward?
I understood that she's in detox… sometimes they mix those patients in together. That's what they do in the hospital I go to because addicts tend to have a lot of mental health problems, too

I'm sorry that you had to take a step back because she became overbearing, but you did a difficult, but wonderful thing by being there for her when she needed you. Maybe given a little time she'll renew her appreciation for you and you can resume a healthier relationship together
