Angry It Ticks Me Off....

That some people are incapable of learning from past mistakes...

That the only thing wrong with our little church are the "good Christians" attending it.......

That people who claim to be good Christians will say hurtful things to our Pastor instead of overwhelming her with appreciation and love.....

That these same "good" people would bring the Pastor to tears and then be critical of her for crying................

That these "devout members" would make fun of her...the same ones who refused to give our previous minister a raise two years in a row and then complained when he went to a new church...................

That my phone rings off the hook and I cannot support their position...

That they don't like having a woman Pastor....only men can be Pastors!
and they don't like the way she waves her arms and they feel like she's teaching Sunday school and she doesn't inspire them and on and on and on!!

I am mad enough to spit!! We have a time in our service when we share joys and concerns.....boy oh boy would I like to share some!!!!!

So the delivery and appearance is more important than the actual message. Interesting. I wonder where their devotion lies - oops, wrong thread.

I have a friend who likes to razz his Christian friends when they speak of Jesus. He says it sounds like they are referring to thier imaginary friend. I wonder what this imaginary friend would have to say about these devout Christians making their pastor cry.

It ticks me off when people use religion/God to justify rude human behavior.

Well, this is interesting.! I was just thinking about a ticked off thread yesterday and now I can't remember what it was.

So I'll be ticked off about the same subject. ((Alffe)) completely understand. I haven't met very many of what I consider true Christians. People who walk the walk they talk. I'd love to see an animated pastor!

There is a woman pastor at my folks 'sister' church, and my mom just doesn't think that's right. Well crikies.

And as long as we hit the subject of women being in what normally is considered a man's job, it really ticks me off that there are people that think a woman couldn't be an effective president. I'm not just speaking of Hillary Clinton, but any woman. I know my mom would never vote for a woman president.

At my mom and dad's church, a lady friend was a devout attendee for years on end. She was divorced. And she met a man and they fell in love and being older folks, they lived together for a long time. Then they decided to go ahead and get married. The pastor at my folk's church wouldn't marry them because they had been living in sin.

She hasn't been back to that church since.

Gimme a break.

And I think you should just go ahead and voice your opinion to them Alffe. Who better to set them straight than you? Shame on them!

((((((((KellWantsAnswers))))))))

Maybe the new job will be a blessing.

I know it's frustrating and stressful, though...

Any chance you can take a lovely restful bath and forget about it all for a bit?

Alfie,
I'm sorry that's all happening.

(It's nice you're so popular... there is that aspect.)

You know what, I'm happy being a hermit.

(Except if I was a good hermit I probably wouldn't frequent forums...)

I have those "good Christians" at my church who sit and gossip about all the ones they don't like. I don't understand it because when I am at church I am so very happy and the last thing I would want is to spoil it by wondering what everyone thinks or what i think about them.

I just put a smile on my face and go on lovin the Lord.

You know my hubby says that the people in my church that are raising their hands are trying to give God a high five. So I said "why not maybe God likes a high five now and then too " He grew up in a strict Catholic church (now this isn't saying Catholics are wrong now) but from what I saw when I went with him was not alot of emotion and it just wasn't the right fit for me.

Now if he would go to church on a regular basis I would go with him to any church but he doesn't like going, probably for alot of the reasons that have been mentioned here. He sees the cliques and just can't stand it but I am not there to be liked I am there to be loved...Sue

I share every ounce of anger you about this problem.

I belive in God but do not attend any church [ was a Pentacostalist 20 years ago]

Those people ,who you feel are Good christians ARE NOT they are small minded people who hide behind religion to propagate their shellfish and introspective nature.

True believers would not ridicule an individual, God sent this pastor to your congregation, are they implying his decision was wrong?

AIR your views, its better to find out if the church you attend now is truly the place to be.
Good luck.

I thank you all for your replies. I'm less angry today and more depressed about her situation. Our small church is this Pastors first church...she had a "calling" for lack of a better word in her late forties, gave up a succesful career in Social Servies and went to seminary. I have watched her enthusiasm dwindle for two years now, have watched her reach out many times only to be rejected time and again. Behavior like this is not acceptible in any situation but to have it blatantly and repeatedly in Gods House just astounds me!

Nice to see you here Consider This...but that kind of popularity I can do without. My "foolish response" is always the same.."I like her and think she is wonderful" The bible says we are supposed to "overwhelm our ministers with love and appreciation".

And David...no, these are not good Christians...they are regular pew warmers.
We all know the difference.
