Yes ma'am. Because of my ulcerative colitis. It's tried to kill me a couple of times. It's very scarred in there so they take biopsies every year.
Wonder how Mr. Kathy is doin.

My husband had his test yesterday, and they tell us we have to wait 7-10 days for results of the biopsies. I was a little ticked because it was a different doctor/nurse at the VA. We only got to speak with the nurse (I'm assuming she was a nurse), and she acted a little surprised when I mentioned this was a follow-up colonoscopy from last June. I got the impression she thought this was a standard exam. She only mentioned three more polyps being biopsied, nothing about the previous 5 found in June. I thought that was why we had to come back in September.

That's so unfair....I hate waiting!!! I'd call the office every day if I were you.

And I'd definitely get to the bottom of why they didn't know this was a followup. Call the original doctor and find out what the heck!?

((( Kathy ))) When I had my colonoscopy a couple months ago 4 polyps were removed and the biopsies were done right THEN. (all benign - thank God)
I was given photos of them and copies of the results ~shudder~ It's HIDEOUS that your husband is being treated like this when we KNOW different treatment is possible and easy. |

I can also sympathize with you on the horrors of colonoscopies! After one of mine, I was visited by the doctor in recovery and shown the pictures of the ulcers that he found. I also suffer with ulcerative colitis, and it can be VERY difficult to live with! I totally agree with the others. Call the office of the original doctor who ordered this follow-up, and find out what the deal is with this wait! I'm sorry your hubby is suffering with this, and will keep you both in my thoughts and prayers! :

Actually, I don't get the results of my numerous biopsies for the same period of time.
My gastro specialist usually talks to me afterwards to give me his opinion of what he found. But the 'official' biopsy report takes my medical facility 7-10 days as well. How's Mr. Kathy doing ((Kathy))???
