I'm sorry to hear this Vicky...seems like it's happening more and more, or maybe they are just reporting it more. I hope your pain pills are working for you...I'll be so glad when this is all behind you.

I'm so sorry Vicky.

I wonder if it is reported more or if it is increasing too. There certainly is enough in the news about the actor's suicide attempt. (Owen ...?) I feel badly for him that there is just so much publicity on it and I just hope that maybe it will do some good ... Maybe others will be able to talk more about it if they feel they can relate to him too.

I wasn't very close to him. Actually his name was Scott. He played in the band and was very talented. He kept to himself and didn't have very many friends. He was shunned and made fun of, because he has epilepsy. He lived just round the corner from me growing up. We were friends but not close. As an adult, when i'd go to visit mom I'd see him walking behind her house to catch public transportation to go somewhere because he couldn't drive. One time i made it a point to stop him and catch up. That was probally 3 years ago. I guess that was the last time i talked to him... both his parents have died, and there was just him and his sister... SHE was a #@$%* her and Scott did not get along at all. The man who lived next door to him goes to church with my mom and he had his son go over there to check on him as he hadn't seen Scott out recently. The door was unlocked so he went in and found him. It was this man who was telling mom about it at church last night so mom called me an let me know as soon as she got home. I feel so bad for him that he was that lonely and desperate. He never married and as far as i know never had many close relationships with anybody. Its just not right....

one of the very reasons why lil'monkey and i do the smile at people thing. in stores...while driving...on walks. that might be the only smile that person had gotten that day..or week. only smile they returned too.

i am so sorry vicky.

it makes you stop and think. times have changed. not always for the better.

christmas cards. we dont send out as many as we used to. same with other holidays. growing up i remember stacks and stacks of cards and letters.

((((HUGS)))) Vick... darn sad news

I live in a densely populated area where people walk just about everywhere - everything is close and the walk is pleasant...
and Curious, you made me think how special it is to receive a smile. I always attempt eye contact and the smile and nod follows when its made!

People are such complicated creatures.

Aren't we?
