Default What's on your plate....

Listened to the Diane Rehm show this morning about downsizing the food products..pumping air into icecream to make it look like more, same box size for cereal but fewers ounces in it, tuna cans with pumped up tuna inside, putting a dimple in the bottom of peanut butter jars so it would hold less, and the most shocking one to me was same lable on the can, different product inside!!!

Made cookies for our mechanic (he fixed my car door panel) and made sour cream coffee cake for the freezer.

The Bridge came so this afternoon I'll be a couch potato watchng it.

What's on your plate?

Its a rainy day here... lots and lots of rain... the pitter patter reminds me of camping... the sound of the rain hitting the leaves and the tarp (My neighbour has a tarp over their canoe)... ok, too much information

I've got an amazing listing ending on eBay within the next 4 hours - I bought a cute little pattern book for 25 cents, wrote up an auction and as I write this, the bidding is up to $36 !!! ...

So, I'm listing more today... and I have chorus rehearsal tonight.

And I'm in a good head space right now... as things are working out (the insurance people decided in my favour - hurrah, .... the government!!!.... yes mental illness seriously debilitates our lives!
I honestly didn't know how far I was going to allow myself to stand up for this right - the next step was to go before a hearing ....

well, I don't have to wonder about that because things worked out!

I'm wondering how Goofy and Wren are....

I spent a good majority of the day transporting to and from appointments for my son-in-law and daughter. I mentioned recently they have really been having physical issues. This morning took my son-in-law to the Wolfe Eye Clinic and he spent the day recuperating at my home. We had some good conversation.

And daughter has so many issues, I talked her into seeing my massage therapist. My daughter was amazed at a few of the things Chris 'cured' for her. Chris is definitely a healer. There are no words to describe what a session is like with her!

So, anyway...I towed them to and fro for their appointments.

And finally, Otto went home today!!!! Now I have one less animal to clean up after.

(And I still think that Ms. Alffe in particular would like the movie The Secret Life of Bees. I watched it for a 2nd time just yesterday. Just returned it to the video store today)

Well one good thing about losing my mind is that everything old is new again!

I'm cleaning...baby sister coming for a much too short visit. Also wishing I could give oldest grandaughter a real life hug...her marine husband is on his way to Libya..where we have no "boots on the ground".

Also have a batch of sour dough bread rising. Wondering how our Goofy is today and also if Lonely 1 will ever talk to us again.

I slept in to catch up on what I lost after having Grand-Addy for an over-nighter...

I totally understand the racing mind stuff because when I have Grand-Addy it puts me together with her mom or dad or both ... which then introduces only little bits of their lives... which results in my ocd-ish mind (which is debilitated by lack of sleep ) going into over-drive....

Its noon now... and I'm grateful that my mind is healthy enough to rationalize and let things be as they are... knowing that everyone has to live their lives... and if I can touch in it in a loving way... then I can be content with that.

If I was working a "real" job right now... I doubt very much I would be in this healthy head-space...

so... things happen for a reason, eh?

Hey, lonely1 - I recall you mentioning that you stood up to your "superior" (ha! what a word... lol) at work... and I'm wondering where you're at with that experience?

Hope everyone is having a good day...
