Default I am the Most Valuable Thing that I Have in Life

Some words of wisdom I'd like to share; my therapist sent this to me this morning, and it is SO true, one of the many things I have to work on, including what people say or think about me. I need to work on my self-esteem.

I will realize my own worth when I accept.....
I am the most valuable thing that I have in life.

When something is important to you, you take care of it. You make sure it is protected, nurtured, and that those things required for its maintenance are provided. Whether it is your child, your home or your vehicle, if you consider the person or entity important, you will do your darndest to see that it is taken care of. In those cases where you have assigned a value to the thing you consider important, the stakes are even higher. Is it not true that there have been times when you have denied, jeopardized or put aside your own needs and well-being to provide for those you consider important and valuable? Most of us do it most of the time, and that is exactly why it seems perfectly normal.

The destruction of self-worth begins the moment we assign a value to something outside ourselves. The destruction continues when we accept the responsibility to care for and maintain something that has more value than we do. Being a parent or spouse is not more important that being a whole, healthy being. Being a diligent and responsible worker is not more important than being a peaceful, loving soul. Working hard to provide or take care of material possessions is not more important than taking care of your mind, your body or your spirit. Anytime you place a value on anything or anyone greater than the value you place on yourself, you are engaging in an unconscious form of suicide.

Until today, you may have considered someone or something more important than you. You may have pushed yourself to take care of people and things, believing they were valuable and important aspects of your life.

Just for today, and again tomorrow, make yourself the most important and valuable aspect of your life. In other words for the next two days, think of you, do for you, take care of you first.

Today I am devoted to caring for the most important and valuable part of my life ----me!

I read your incredible posting before I logged in and started crying so hard I could not get logged in. I still can't stop crying because I am so astonished and touched. Thank you. I try to explain my feelings later. thank you.

((BJ)) It just makes me feel happy that you realize that and that it is so true. I've only come to the same realization later in my life than I would have liked, but at least I'm working on that same thing...self love. Very important stuff.

Default Hi BJ,

I love that. That is so true and such a good thing to believe in and follow.

That was very nice of your Therapist to send it to you. That means he is willing to go the extra mile to help you.

You are a good person. Just always remember that .

I am going to run off a copy of that. I want to share it with some of my friends that would enjoy it.

I hope you are doing better. I have a Halloween/birthday party to go to tonight. I am still trying to figure out my costume.

You have a good day and thanks again for that great post.

Default Hi Alffe,

I have been busy getting a front door put in and my porch painted. I moved into this place in April after Bill passed away and I am getting it ready for winter.

I have also been having bad days due to pain from the RSD. I see my Dr Monday and he's going to give me some shots. I see my hand surgeon Tuesday and I'm hoping he will do surgery on my hand to release a nerve.

As far as the VNS. My Dr. turned it up as I told you and it is doing less for me now then it did before he turned it up again. We just have one more time to turn it up.

As I was telling BJ though. I am sure not giving up on it. I know it takes time.

My kids are having a combination birthday/halloween party for my 13 year old grandson tonight. They are going to have over 20 kids so I will not be there long for sure. I love kids but that many at one time? The kids live in my other home, I just hope there's some of it left after all of the guest leave. LOL

BJ and I have been PM'ing so I haven't disappeared completely.

Hope you are doing ok. Thank you for being such a good caring person. We need all of those we can get in our lives.

I often wondering why we can have 100's of friends but one bad person in our life and it overwhelms all of the good. It's hard to see the beautiful mountain because of the fog.

I will let you know how the party goes and my diet from all of the cake and ice cream. LOL

Ada
