Addy - That was beauuuuuutiful. I had such a huge urge to kiss the cheeks of your little darlings - who are probably huge now.
![]() My childhood memories of Christmas aren't very good. It's not that we were poor, but my parents believed strongly in not overindulging us. Mom was real strict about not taking or having more than we need. We were only allowed one present, and it had to be something we needed. My gift was usually an ugly sweater that was "warm, sturdy and big enough to grow into." ![]() ![]() I also don't overindulge my son, but I made sure he had an enjoyable Christmas while growing up. One year when he was around 3, I thought I had it all covered. When he finished opening up all his presents, he said "Mom where are your presents? Weren't you good this year?" Oops. ![]() Christmas will be special this year. With my son coming home on leave for the holiday, he'll be both decoration and present for me. ![]() |

We were poor, not dirt poor but school teachers didn't make a lot of money and there were four kids to provide for. My dad pounded it into us that family was the most important thing in this world and I've learned how much I appreciate being taught that. He always said, "I don't have much but you all can always come home to live." Those roots go really deep. I miss him.
And I'd like to state again that old age isn't for sissies. Will explain more later. And yep KathyM....we got stuff like new underwear! ![]() You will have a joyous Christmas with your son there. ![]()
