Last week at work was a mess......pre-chritmas chaos.........

The young man who created most of the problems with visitors, and smoking cannabis..Well he was the Day after given 14 days notice to vacate the room.
He was allowed to appeal this descision...which he did...claiming He had not been smoking a joint but a ciggarette.. He claimed me and my collegue fabricated this to get him into more trouble and ultimately get him evicted.


Today was his appeal hearing....An hour before he asked me privately what his chances were.

i asked him if he believed that i was lying about what i and co-worker witnessed. He grinned and replied 'no'

I told him to own upto what he had done, be a man[19] and take responsibility for his own actions. [and stop blaming others for his mistakes] but above all oppologise for his behaviour and accept any outcome ilke a man.

I was not present at his apeal hearing, but the outcome was he will not be evicted.[last,last,last chance]

I was else where when he returned to the hostel, he left a message to say 'Thank David, he will understand why'

Last week i could easily have rung his neck, today he was a frightened 19 year old boy potentialy homeless in one weeks time..

Can a lepord change its spots...the jury is still out on that one...but the ball is firmly in his court... i just hope he doesn't blow it again....

You "redefined it" David....you were able to see the boy behind the attitude.

Let's hope he remembers this and turns his life around. Maybe he too will pay it forward.
