Hey Curious, good to see you back. Missed ya! My dad used to work for H&R Block till just last year when he finally quit. He was sick and tired of them and their heavy fees on the retired. Since he is retired and only doing the work to suplimate his income, he didn't need them for support. You, my dear, are at the wrong place. Is there a Jackson and Hewitt out there? They amended my 2006 return that my father did for me when I was seperated from my husband. Since my husband died, they changed it to married filing jointly instead of seperately. So, after a whole year of not one penny from my husband for child support, Jackson and Hewitt got me back $13,580!!! But then of course, the IRS kicked in and took most of it back for the child support owed to me an arrears from my ex to be. Said right on the front of the stupid form he is deceased! Not only am I fighting the state to get it back, I am also fighting the courts to prove that I am the mother of my two girls. My husband mysteriously took out a accidental death policy in Aug last year (he planned his Oct suicide). He lied on the application and said he wasn't married and that if there were any proceeds, it would go to his children, the beneficiaries. Well, since the policy doesn't know who I am, I am suddenly having to prove I am there mother and a birth certificate doesn't mean anything to them!!!
On the brighter side, I finally sold my husbands $25,000 truck today! Not only do I have money to pay off a tidbit of the debt he caused through are year of seperation, I don't have to look at it anymore out front. The fact that he took his life in the back seat of his truck, I couldn't wait to get it off my new property. Next year, find someone else to do your taxes and stay away from the greedy and the ignorants. |
