Now ... can you pronounce Launceston?
Course I do! Hmmphhht!

Launceston (lôn`sĕstən, lŏn`–), city (1991 pop. 66,747), on Tasmania, SE Australia, where the North Esk and South Esk rivers join to form the Tamar estuary; founded 1806. Launceston is the second most populous city in Tasmania and the main port for trade with the Australian mainland. The principal exports are dairy products, flour, and lumber. There are woolen mills and aluminum works. The city has teacher-training and technical schools.

Well done Twink!

BRAVO!

The city I live in is named "Launceston", and for those who don't read phonetics, it's pronounced Lon..sess...tun with long emphasis on in the "o".

Just your bit of trivia for today.

......... .......'Fraid so!

William Brimble was the ancestor of mine who was lucky not to have been hanged, after reading the reports of all the silver that he stole. He was sentenced to deportation to Port Arthur which is in Tasmania, and there begins my life history!

Cool Virtual postie vacation!!!

My postie virtual vacation today was a bouncy cross country journey!!!!

WOO HOO!!!!

Starting in Idaho... THANKS AV8!!! I LOVE the mountains!!! What serenity!! Oh to be able to see those on a daily basis!!!

My journey then headed south to the land of the cowboys!! I gotta get down that way and rope me one!!!! Thanks Curious... LOVE them cowboys and the recipe for Texas Chili sounds so yummy... gonna wait for cooler weather to try out that one.

From Texas I headed North East to the land of some big moose. Thanks Nik-key. I love the Moose Facts!!! I'd love to see one but not sure if I'd like to meet one up close... those critters get HUGE!

Thank you all!!! I love the mini vacations!!!!
