Interesting article...where does/how does/why does mental health exist.

Is it in our genes, is it a learned response from child hood, does it stem from mental, physical, or sexual abuse. Is it the brain switching off to destroy us or to preserve us. Is mental health like a virus or a disease, is it catching or not. [PTSD happens in clusters to those whom witness tauma collectively?] is it brought about by personal tragerdy, or soical phobias.

Mental health could be ticked to most of the above, more to note though... like grief, mental health is individual to the person suffering, therefore even alien abduction theory is possibly plauseable.?

I will tick a few boxes of my own.

Youngest of 9..felt left out
Both Parents fought in WWII
Father suffered War Stress for 50 years+ severe MH
Mother suffered repeated dpression
Bullied @ school
Nightmares as child,
Reclusive child/not allowed out like peers[older/wiser/more responsible parents]
Joined Royal Navy/war 1982 Falklands
Mental health
Failed relationships
UNSETTLED IN WORK FOR YEARS
Marriage/home/children/responsibility/happiness
Deprression
LOSS OF Father
Severe MH/Attempted suicide
New career
loss of best friend
NEW Depression
New career
CHILDREN GROWING UP NEW WORRIES
New depression
Relative calm
WORK RELATED ISSUES/DEPRESSION
And so on ......................

Life is up and down and Mental health reflects whats going on at the time
Having the tools whatever they be to help keep a balance is a must.

Sadly we dont all ask for help seek help, or even know we need help.
Repeating my theory M/H is individual..............sixteen years ago some one
who the outside world thought was perpetual sunshine, said to me Mental health was all in the mind, and that a person was weak if they let it get to them.

This same person is now a shadow of themselves constantly making reference to 'how did you get through your dark days'.... i often reply i'm still in the dark, but you dont realise because i choose to not let you see.

When Psychiatrist's treat patients on an individual basis and in an holistic manner maybe a new theory will flourish. One where mankind is noticed as being frail to the constant drip drip of human life, where sunny vaccations are the medication accompanied by kind words, and above all.... hope and reasurance that this time will pass..........[ i can but wish lol]

I watched a portion on the morning news this morning where they very carefully chose embroyos that were cancer free, from among a gene pool of cancer donors (families with the cancer gene). If they can do this now, think of what they'll be able to "select" in the years to come.

Perhaps all our illnesses, mental and physical will be weeded out.
Could be a very generic world out there....boring! Familiar...safe? I'm searching for a word.

Remember world, we have been accused of dumbing down. Of trying to find the lowest common denominator.

A recent strategic policy i saw was The police/health service/social service/youth services....foccusing on what society see as Anti social families/history of unemployment culture/criminality/etc....the foccus being target younger family members not to re-procreate [ until employed and reformed]

Who says strerlisation wont be the future[they see it as stopping a perpetual circle, what happened to education, aspiration, empowerment]

Yes some families are disfunctional, but lets ask why and offer guidance to reform, instead of perparing to choose which family gets a break and which one does not]

Civil liberties............dont make me laugh.
