You and your family are in my prayers.

I have good news and i have bad news. My FIL has a bleeding ulcer in his duodemen (i know i spelled it wrong and right now i dont care LOL) He also has a (here goes another spelling mistake) a heital hernia.... They are releasing him from the hospital tomorrow to go to a skilled nursing unit. He'll be there until he gets his strength back. Ricks twin brother is coming down from Oregon the 26th. i doubt my FIL will be strong enough by then to be in his apartment. i guess we'll see..... Thank you for your prayers and support. Ouch...I'm sorry about your FIL Goofy....hoping he'll feel much better now that they have dx'd him. Keeping you all in my prayers. :hug:

I'm sorry to hear about the duodenal ulcer Goofy, but the good news is that they can be treated. There is a medication that can be given to heal them, and if that doesn't work, then surgical oversewing is the another option.

As far as the hiatus hernis is concerned, they're extremely common and most people don't even know they have one. I found out by accident that I have one, when I was having some chest pain investigated. Apart from the occassional reflux, I would never know I even had it, had the doctor not seen it when I had the endoscopy.

My thoughts and prayers will stay with him until we hear that he's well on the road to recovery.
