I wanted to thank each and every one here on SOS who've sent me messages of support during this recent difficult time that DH and I have been through. You know who you are, so I won't emabarrass you by typing out your names.
I'd also like to say sorry that I haven't been around, and update you all about what's been happening with me since DH had his bilateral knee replacement operation 2 weeks ago. He got out of hospital last Tuesday, and has been struggling along at home ever since. He's not doing too bad 'knee wise" although he still has severe pain at times. He's been doing all of his allocated physio exercises and he's even walking on crutches now. With all that's happening, we're both rather tired out... and by early afternoon we're both so exhausted that we've been resorting to afternoon naps. DH isn't sleeping all that well at night yet, which means that I'm not either. There has been several complications of this surgery, and the latest one is that hubby can't see! Since the knee surgery he's had both blurred vision and double vision, and that's been a big worry to both of us. Before the operation he was blind in one eye, so to lose the vision out of his only good eye has been rather devastating to us both. I took him to our local doctor yesterday and she got him an urgent appointment with an eye specialist yesterday afternoon. After checking out DH's eyes, the eye specialist said that DH has had a small stoke that's affecting his vision. This is his second stroke, so DH is rather apprehensive about the outcome especially seeing his father died from a stroke after having a similar operation. Hopefully his vision will recover over time, but even so, it's been just another thing we have to worry about. In the meantime we have appointments made for him to see an eye physiotherapist in a bid to try an strenghten his eye muscles, and followup appointments with this eye doctor. Please pray for him. and wish us both the best of luck.

Warm wishes to you, Koala, and praying for you both.
Hoping that the effects of the stroke will wear off and DH will regain his eyesight. I hope you two get some help so that you're not so worn out.

Thank you Twink, Nik-key, Goofy and Alffe, ....and yes Alffe.... I am worn out a lot of the time at present.
At the moment we have appointments almost every single day, and some days we have several. We're running around constantly, and it's getting very time consuming a well as exhausting. I know it won't last forever, and I'm happy to do anything I can to help DH through this period, but as you can imagine this new stroke has set us both on our derrieres, and it's put a bit more of a strain on our already strained emotions. DH is so scared that he's going to die just a his father did when he had a similar operation a few years back, and then died from a stroke.

(((((((Koala and her HubbyBear)))))))
The physical strain is challenging enough to recover from such major surgery, but the emotional stress of worry and fear can be even worse. You both have our thoughts and prayers as you take one day at a time together. Don't forget to take care of yourself, as well!!! |

I don't know what else to add ((Koala)) ....just know that you and DH are in my prayers...and I, too, pray that you can find someone to give you some help. This has to be so very difficult, and physically exhausting for both of you. ((((Big Hugs)))) and lots of prayers....

Koal I am sorry to hear D.H. has a small stroke. I know that was/is a huge fear. I pray he continues to heal and make a full recovery.
Make sure you get your rest and eat healthy that includes drinking fluids and even a little chocolate now and then. Keep us posted and please know you are warped in our prayers and in our hearts. PEACE BMW |

oh no, Anne...
we'll definitely keep you both in our prayers and thoughts.. Anne, you are another one of those special warriors that give more than take... you have been through so much yet been so strong for all... I am not sure if I should shake my hands up above and ask somebody up there to say, "you know what, GIVE THEM A BREAK, will ya???" or just to say "Thank you, for giving us Anne and letting her being here with us even with all she's been through..." You hang in there, dear lady...and just take good care of yourself and your special DH...we'll be here whenever you need us and be here whenever you DON'T need us... ((((BIG HUGS))))
