Ohhhhhh BJ. I didn't know you had stopped an AD. Did you stop Effexor cold turkey? When I tried Effexor once, I was SO SICK when I went off that stuff. That was as bad when I went off Paxil. But with the Effexor, I got so sick physically. I hope you feel better soon.

Thanks everyone for the b'day wishes but I'm glad it's over. There's always so much expectations and poof it's gone. Even more so because I always did something special with my mom and this was the first one without her.

Yes Doody I did stop cold turkey and I'm regretting it now. I can't eat anything and I'm shaking like a drug addict. My boss took one look at me and said to go home and get some sleep but I can't. I've gone into a hole and I'm not liking myself right now and I'm afraid to be around people. I'm going to give this a few more hours and if I don't feel better I'm going to call my primary again and she if she can help me with this. I thought I could do it on my own but I can't.

And thanks Alffe for bumping up the other thread. I'll be fine. I just have to get things sorted out inside, if that's possible anymore.

BJ,

I hope you did call your primary doc again, and that she was able to help you. It just is not a good feeling and it can sometimes be reassuring to talk with a professional.

I echo what was said by both scrabble and Doody. I, too, can speak of this horrific experience which caused a very manic time in my life.

Effexor withdrawal is very difficult and especially so IF you are not under a doctors care. If you are not feeling well and can't reach your doctor - visit your local drop-in clinic or emergency ward. They are there to help you.

PLEASE go to google.com and search "effexor withdrawal" - the more information you can arm yourself with, the better you will understand your illness.

I wish you a belated happy birthday!
Give yourself the gift of knowledge.
Best wishes,
sincerely, Addy
