Default What's on your plate for the weekend?

As soon as the coffee kicks in I need to finish cooking for the funeral...two assembled...two to go. It's hard to know how much to cook, how many will stay and eat after the service..we had way too much last time and are trying to cook less this time.

And it's that once a year time to clean the chandaliar...can't believe that Thanksgiving is almost here. Also polish the silverware, and IRON... ..the tablecloth! I am getting a little nostalgic about not having a big dead bird on my kitchen counter....somehow a dead pig in the freezer just isn't the same..

I keep thinking about seeing shooting stars from the hot tub tonight...maybe if I could force myself to take a nap this afternoon.............naw!

Has anyone seen The Prairie Home Companion movie?

We've got a community meeting this morning to protest new development. Efren will then meet with the leader to design their website. While they are doing that, I get to find the song "Fascination" which was his parent's song (and the song they danced to at their wedding 50 years ago) to go on the DVD we are making them. Then take Robert to a birthday party/sleepover and Michael to my sisters house so that we can go to the Married Couples dinner at the church. Tomorrow, we pick up Robert early and go to church. Come back here and sleep all afternoon!

I went to petsmart today and did my shopping for my babies
Then i did a bit of christmas shopping .I had a very nice visit with
an old friend of mine as we sat and drank coffee after we finished shopping.
I just had a real nice saturday afternoon for a change!
I am going to pick up my daughter tomorrow from her friends and spend the afternoon with her.
I am completely broke now..LOL
Yet i am sure we can find something to do that wont cost a dime and still have fun together!!
Whispers to alffe..Next week on thanksgiving-we will have a piggie and a turkey bird on the table..
I am gonna spend the night at my parents house to help bake and prepare as much as possible the night before.
My mom is VERY happy about having a pajama party
I do hope everyone took a nap today,so you can see the beauty in the sky tonight!!
I will be out there{but not in a hottub..heehee} -hoping i can see something....

I'm glad your coffee-shop date with your friend turned out so well, Kell. Sounds like you had a lot of fun!

Julie and Alffe...sounds like the two of you have a lot to do this weekend! I hope ya'll get a chance to see at least a few shooting stars!

I managed to finally get some major grocery shopping done, and have been doing some cooking. Brownies, soup, and tomorrow a big ol' juicy ham...

Have been doing very little here this weekend. It's mid-afternoon Sunday now, so there's not much left. Our school year has finished so I'm in s l o w mode. Might cook a cake shortly. Trouble is I'll eat it.

Today I got my Christmas photo cards printed. I used a picture of my 2 kids with me on the beach. I'm pleased that I got it done because I had to go way across the city (on 2 buses) to get to the place where I 'created' the image with the background and text. Now I want my kids to work on what they would like to say about themselves for our Christmas letter.

My son worked at the pizzeria today and my daughter went to the library where she reads with a 'buddy' every Saturday afternoon.

I'm still coughing, but not as much.

This is my last weekend before I go back to work (I took 2 wks off - "stress" leave - which really - to me, was a health leave and a decision making time leave)... and I'm somewhat disappointed that I didn't accomplish some of the things I had hoped... yet... in so many other ways, I'm proud that some decisions I made have strengthened my character. I apologize for being so evasive... but this being a public site, I'm not always comfortable sharing my deepest, darkest secrets.

I'm meeting my friends for brunch and will do some walking before another big storm hits the WETcoast.

I'm going to list on eBay and do some crafts (I make unique light switch plates) and wrap some parcels to be sent.

I'm going to buy some food - and actually cook - and attempt to take better care of myself...

I'm going to make a decision about Christmas... the most difficult time of year since I left my family...
