Default I Had A New Experience at Work Today

As I was getting ready to leave work today one of our residents came into the activities office and had this totally blank look on her face. I aked her if she was ok and she looked at me and said "I think my dog is dead"
I didn't know what to say... she asked for a box to put her in so i rummaged around and found one and went up to her apartment and she was still breathing, but just barely. There was a large amount of blood coming from her behind. Margaret said she had been spotting since yesterday and started bleeding today. I wish she had told somebody.... maybe the vet could have done something to save her.
ANYWAY we called her daughter and i told her that Margarets dog was bleeding and barely breathing and Margaret wanted to take her to the vet. By the time her daughter got there Rita had taken her last breath. It was so sad. All i knew to do was give Margaret a hug and tell her I was sorry. She took Rita to her daughters and buried her in the back yard.

((goofy)) I am so sorry, that had to have been so difficult! I feel so bad for poor Margaret. I hope her daughter will get her another pup.

How sad.

You did exactly what I would do understand the circumstances I guess? That would have been very troubling situation. I hope you and Margaret are alright.

Oh I had such mixed emotions when I read this...so sorry for the loss of her dog but so happy to learn that pets are allowed there.

And I'm glad you were still there to help her.

Margaret was so lost today.... i just wanted to cry... I saw her pretty much first thing this morning... she came and gave me a big hug and just thanked me over and over for staying with her until her daughter got there..... She was returning from her morning walk... She was telling me how lonely the walk was because she usually did it with Rita!!!!

Hope you are doing well today dear goofy. It is true that the elderly are wonderful to work with. I hope your resident is doing better. I know it hurts you when something like this happens. Please do something good for yourself today.
