I remember when DH and I lived in QLD, trying to remember the no DLS thing whenever we made a phone call to another state.

It's harder living on the Gold Coast because it's so close to the border. Must be hard working in one zone and living in the other. No drama up here too often although I sometimes forget and have phoned interstate business numbers and they're closed already.

It's good that they have most of that oil slick cleaned up, isn't it?

Sad about those other whales though. Poor things.

Yes, our local beaches have had the signs taken down so people are using them again. Because of the weather though, lots of it has been buried unfortunately and it's toxic. They haven't found the 30 odd containers of chemicals that actually spilled into the ocean. I guess they're at the bottom or floating away somewhere. Shocking incident indeed!

Poor whales. They lose their way.

I love watching the humpbacks here swimming off the coast. One day when I have the dollars we're going to go out and take a closer look.

When we lived in Bundy we used to spend some weekends at Hervey Bay. Elle McPherson's sister Mimi, had a lovely boat that she used for whale watching tours from there. I never did go on one though.

That's right. I remember she was involved with that.
The Steve Irwin "Whale One" goes out here from Maroochydore or Mooloolaba but I'd rather go up there to get a charter. We will one day.

I must admit that Hervey Bay is one of my very favourite places. That and Fraser Island of course.

Back later. Have to log off again so I can conserve time on the net. I'll check in a bit later.

Thanks so much, Koala.
