Default I know where Spring is...

It's 140 miles south of my house! The Bradford Pear trees, the Redbuds, tulips, dafodils, green green grass....absolutely breathtaking!!!

And then we came home...... what a difference 140 miles can make.

Here - the Bradfords are almost finished -- very few are left BUT the LILACS are off to a joyous start.
(I've seen one dogwood but it is a bit too early so it must be a domestic one)
The precious, precious redbud are in such a riot that, for me, driving is dangerous .

The hummingbird migration map says that they are already here ... I wonder if I'll ever see one where I'm living now.

It was almost 90 yesterday. I think Texas skipped it.

Great..I probably jinxed us huh Goofy? Watch for snow.

We are supposed to get rain all day Sunday. We need it. We had horrible fires here yesterday.

Weird.

Last night Gabriel (my oldest boy, 6) read a book to me about a frog and toad looking everywhere for spring because they heard it was just around the corner.

Haven't noticed the flowers as much as my mood being better.

I can't quit thinking about getting one or two of these but someone told me to be careful because one particular kind has an awful odor....anyone know about this?

And Moose....it really is right around the corner! Glad your mood is lifting.
Does your son read about the farting dog?

I have never been around one that smells bad. We have them everywhere here in Texas.

If you get a strong wind while they are flowering, it looks like it's snowing.

Lots of leaves to rake...

ROFL!!!!!!!!!! scott calls the bradford pear trees the "stinky fish tree" and they DO smell like that too LOL.... I think there are a couple different kinds of bradford pears.... Hey Curious...
How close were the fires to you? We had some bad ones here to. MWC which is about 30 minutes north and east of us and Choctaw which is about 45 minutes north and west of us really got hit hard.... They were evacuating whole cities because there werent enough firemen to fight the fires... pretty scary.....

1 county over. Just on the west side of Ft Worth. Which is close.

The air is still thick.

Lil'Monkey had a track meet yesterday. Crazy to make the kids be out breathing that.

She did make district....high jump..and was jumping into the wind. lol.

Alffe can you grow Crepe Myrtles there? They are one of my favorites. The bark is pretty when bare in the winter. Messy beautiful flowers.

HA!

You're funny. I like that.

Yes, we men can always find humor and even use it as a bonding mechanism when the 'bottom burps' pop up. But I don't know if he's read that one.

And this talk of stinky trees reminded me that every once in awhile you can smell fish in the yard. Granted we're out in the country and have an apple tree in the yard, but I wouldn't have guessed it came from a tree.

Moose must investigate further.
