Just checking in before we leave town. I am glad she is making some progress - however slow. I pray that her pain will be manageable and that she makes a full and quick recovery.
I know this has to be so difficult for you and your dad. Take care of each other (((((Doody)))) |

Sending love to you and your family. I know how hard it is to be the one responsible for making sure your parents get the right treatment and care.
I hope everything goes as smoothly as possible.

Thank you.
Last night she finally got some sleep! And dad too! And me too! Today she is like a different person. She isn't as doped up on the fentanyl as she was. She was scaring us as she seemed so delirious until this morning. They bathed her today and got the rest of the blood off her. They tried to get her up to walk but it was very painful. She did get a few steps in and they will do that again tomorrow. Her elbow took a heck of a lot repair! My daughter is on her way with little g-doody to visit her. Daughter stayed with me last night and gdoody called this morning. First thing he said was, "Is grammy still sick? Is she home? Can I go see her?" LOL so he gets to go see her shortly. That will boost her spirits a lot! I have no clue how long she'll be there. I guess a lot depends on how ambulatory she is. With the fractured pelvis I'm just not so sure. Lot of family and friends been visiting her and my closest cousins said they will make themselves available to help them and help me help them. Dad can't see for diddly so he doesn't normally drive, mom always does. Think that means there will be a lot of taking them places they need to go. Thank you and I love you all.

I'm glad she finally got some sleep. That alone can do heaps of good. I've always heard that a fractured pelvis is very painful. Hope they use a walker when they get her up.

Back home again. It's been a rough day for her. Too much painful activity. When I left they were giving her blood. The doctor said she's lost too much so, anyway.
It's kind of a wait and see right now. I asked the doc about home health care for them and geesh, what kinda shape you gotta be in to get any here!? Grr. But then I read last week,...well, Iowa isn't alone. But Iowa is ranked right up there with other states with crappy social services and available help. Granddoody is there with her right now. Boy, that lit up her face! He saw her when they walked in the room and shrieked "GRAMMY!" They managed a hug and some kissy face and he gave her a cute card. Dad told me to get my butt home and take the evening off, soooo I am. Daughter and SIL and gdoody are spending the night here. Love you guys.

Good for your sweet Dad looking out for our Doody. Hope you get some sleep tonight! The rockers came and we almost got a divorce over trying to assemble them....lots of blue air. But I love the way they look.

This is like a roller coaster with mom. She had a really rough night last night with pain. A few other things going on and I swear nobody there knows how to find a vein.
Late this afternoon they took her to get another scan to check and see if she might have a blood clot in her lungs. Her oxygen level is really low. But I wonder if it is because she's been so doped up and that can cause poor breathing, I think. We don't know the results, but I think if there were a clot we would know by now. They don't expect her to come home for another few days so we'll see. Thank you for caring.
