Thanks again so much my friends.

My mom told me again today to tell my internet friends how much your prayers and well wishes mean to her. She said they have helped her a lot.

She's trying hard. Today she took a whole bunch more steps. I can't keep track anymore but I know the last couple days she has taken a few more steps each day, as painful as it is for her.

I think I've made a little friend. Each day this tiny little lady is sitting in the same place with her walker in front of her. Each day she has smiled at me when I walk by her. Today as I left she looked at me, held up her little tiny bird hand and waved and smiled. (She reminds me of a baby bird, she's so itty bitty, lol.) REally warmed my heart.

I'd like to take her a little gift but have no clue what she might like. Any suggestions?

Doody -- maybe this dear woman (who probably has many bottles of hand lotion, cologne and such) would simply love a little stuffed animal? A little toy stuffed bird?

Maybe a pretty clip-on bow for her hair -- tell her you saw the beautiful bow in the store and it made you think of her smile.

Maybe a small soft blanket? I think you can get them at any discount store at a good price. So sweet of you.

Maybe A Hug From Blanche? They hand knit shrugs which could be the perfect gift for an elderly person who is sitting up and may be in a draft, or who just needs to feel "hugged".

((doody)) ((doody's Mom)) Such a trooper your Mom is I have been keeping her in my prayers, and you too!! Water therapy is excellent. I can't stress enough how much it has helped people and animals alike in my family. Most PT's offer the service, keep us posted

You are so sweet to want to get a gifty for your new friend I have made lots of new "friends" at Lynn's nursing home. So many have no visitors, ever breaks my heart. I know so many by name now and visit them daily. They forget they tell me the same story every day, but I am use to that! lol

Have you had a look around her room? Anything she has an interest in? There is this one lady at the nursing home who has a walker, and she ALWAYS carries her stuffed kitties with her. She is always dropping them and getting soooo upset. A couple of weeks ago I bought her one of those little baskets you put on a bike and we attached it to the walker for her.. excuse me, for her kitties She was in Heaven! It's the little things..... and honestly, anything you bring her, will warm her heart. So sweet of you

Thanks, those are all excellent ideas. I'll have to find out which room is her's and take a peek. That basket idea cracks me up! The little ladies who sit in a row with their walkers in front of them have the wildest array of things attached to the walkers.
