I wish wishes could change things. I wish he didn't have to suffer through so much at his young age. I wish you didn't have to suffer so much pain. I wish our society was set up differently, with a lot more volunteer work available and run like a well-oiled machine. I wish there was someone who could just sit quietly in your room with you and help you with simple things.

On a practical note-I don't know what grade your nephew is in, but if he has trouble keeping up with his school work, I want to be sure you know about 504 plans. They work sort of like IEP's (Individualized Education Plans for special needs kids) and can be used when a child has normal IQ, but due to life events, needs accomodations; such as a plan where he can take a break if needed-maybe someone taking notes for him-extra time for work and tests before counted as late, etc.

Nik-key, I have been reading your posts for many months, but after reading your post to the thread about "Hope" and the ones on this thread, I just feel such a need to respond. But I don't know what to say.

I've written a number of responses to other posts by you and others, but I could not hit the "submit" button -- mainly because I'm the other type of survivor than your type and didn't want to cause problems on the forum. Saturday or Sunday, after reading the post/thread where you, GmaSue, BJ, David, who moi and others were discussing suicide/selfishness/rationality, I realized what a fair person you are. If I can find where I may have saved what I was trying to write about, I will try to post them.

I wish that I could help you in some way. You find a way to love and to be good even in the midst of such suffering, both emotional and physical. You've touched my life.

GmaSue, you're a good friend here!

Scrabble, it's wonderful to read your posts. I've missed you, and I've appreciated that you've never forgotten me. Not a special day goes by that something doesn't arrive in my mailbox. Forgive me for my silence?

moi, what can I say? I love you.

Another day off that is really not a day off. The baby has a drs appointment, Mom has an appointment and the dogs have an appointment.

The incubator ( I have trouble calling her a Mom ) finally called and is taking the baby overnight Friday. This is so stressful for me. I hate to let her take her. But I am trying to do what is right. The other Grandmom will be there so I am not as worried as I would be if the "Mom" were going to be alone with her.

I mentioned to "Mom" that she (her baby) has a dr appointment today. She never even asked "what for?" Is everything ok? This so called Mom has not called in almost 3 weeks just to check on her own child! It is beyond frustrating! I am really tryimg to give ner the benefit of the doubt, but she makes it soooo difficult.

well enough of that.......Enjoy your day everyone!

Dottie

((Reyn)) Such beautiful words, I was very moved I think even those who are here because we lost a loved one to suicide, are also "the other kind of survivor".

Please do hit the summit button, we all lose out when you don't. We are all survivors here. I think I can safely speak for everyone when I say we WANT to know what you are feeling, how you are doing, and the thoughts you are thinking. I know I do

And you do help me ((Reyn)) just by being here.

((sue)) thank you for everything

((Dottie)) I can understand your resentments. I am glad that little angel has you to protect her
