Unhappy Headaches with tarlov cyst?

Hello,

I'm new to the forum and recently diagnosed with 6 tarlov cysts in my lover spine. I was also told that i have several "nerve sheath" cysts in my cervical spine. Anyone know if these would be the same as the tarlov cysts? More importantly, has anyone ever had terrible headaches that mostly occur at night? I think the headaches are connected to the tarlov cysts but can't find any supporting information.

Thank you,
dawna

this is one of our less active forums so it may take a while before someone replies

Hi there

I dont get chronic headaches at night as a result of my TC. In fact the headaches I got were relieved by lying down, that was because they were due to a CSF leak. Other than that I dont think my headaches are out of the ordinary.

Hope you get answers soon.

Cheers

Definitely changes in cerebral spinal fluid pressure can cause headaches, and TC's can cause these changes. I have been experiencing the same thing except mine are primarily in the morning.

Hi,
I am new here too I have 5 tarlov cysts that cause intense pain and burning. I have lower back pain that radiates into my buttocks, leg, groin and heel for over 10 year. Saw numerous doctors all said they can't find a reason for the pain. I was only diagnosed with Tarlov 1 year ago once the MRI technology improved . It has bee frustrating and depressing since most Doc. don't seem to have a clue and instead of looking into it they dismiss the Tarlov as the cause of pain. Also I have a high tolerance for pain and I don't wear it on my sleeve so in my experience doctors do not take you or your pain seriously if you present yourself well. It seems that if you do not look like a rag or cry, they seem to think it isn't as serious as you say. I too have bad headaches after laying down, I go to sleep without them yet almost daily I wake up with a bad headache. I am very sorry that you suffer but in some strange way I feel encouraged that I am not alone and that this may be Tarlov related.
What do you do for the pain?

Thanks for your story, I have a similar problem with the doctors. But I tell you, when you cry about the pain, they only pop pop you and label you depressed/psychotic/its all in your head....no luck for me yet...
