I had TC surgery to treat the cysts by Dr. Feigenbaum in 2013. I continue to have high levels of pain due to the nerve treated not healing but instead becoming more and more inflamed. Are there others having similiar experiances?

I have been recovering from this surgery for 2 + years. Dr. Feigenbaum his staff have been exceptional. Unfortunately the nerve root most impacted by the surgery is inflammed (no guarentees) I realize it will be a long term recovery for me, but am in much better shape than before the surgery. The good news, is that Pain Mgmt techniques with a prescribed TENS unit and a compounded cream (that contains nerve pain killers, etc) are very effective. Because of the nerve damage caused by the cysts (3 of them) I am dealing with pain at the surgery site, and down my right let and into foot and toes. I feel blessed because I have a good med insurance and have found relief from the pain. I still must be very careful and not bend much or walk very far (1 mile max).

Hi Bobi J.. I am new to this neurotalk forum. I was wondering if you are still participating, as your last post was in 2012. My MRI is showing 8 cysts.. and I am scheduled for surgery with Dr. Feigenbaum on December 20. I had some questions for you if you wouldn't mind...? thanks

First, I want to put out prayers to all who are suffering from symptomatic tarlov cysts. I was recently diagnosed with large sacral tarlov cysts which the neurosurgeon told me were not the cause of my many symptoms. After many other tests to rule other things out, I felt I needed a second opinion on these cysts, as I had never heard of them before. I will be seeing a second neurosurgeon in May. My most difficult symptom is sacrum/rectal burning pain/pressure all the time. I cannot sit at all without major discomfort. I have various other symptoms too that many of you mention. I have recently started taking CBD soft gels to try to alleviate the pain, but so far I'm not getting relief. What are some you taking for pain management ? Thanks.
