Default Arachnoid Cyst Information - new diagnosis

Hello to all - I was just diagnosed with an arachnoid cyst which I am trying to find out a bit more information on. The one that I have is quite large in size (8cm) but I have not been exhibiting any of what I am reading is to be typical symptoms (no nausea, vomiting, headaches, etc...)
about 2 weeks ago I was getting a few lightheaded spells that would come and go quickly and I had a night which I woke up and had some difficulty swallowing - again this came and went quickly. These symptoms have since subsided and I feel 'normal' - like I did before these spells came on. I had blood work and an MRI which revealed the cyst. I am meeting with a neurologist tomorrow but am trying to collect as much info as I can.
Are these typically treated with Surgery? What can be expected?
If I don't display any symptoms do they just leave these as is?
are they life threatening?
I've been doing web searches on them and the information isn't very clear other than they are typically found incidentally and normally don't pose problems.
I'm 41, and very active - and am just trying to see what i am in store for - or if it will be life as usual with some periodic monitoring of the condition.

Hello,

I just wanted to let you know that I can answer most of your questions. I had surgery in April.
I would like to first tell you they themselves are not life threatening. Do you have any symptoms?
