Hello, I was just recently diagnosed with a 2cm tarvol cyst in my sacrum at the level of the S2 vertebral segment. My Chiropractor recommended an MRI to see why I have persistent back and tail bone pain. I also have a couple of bulging discs. I am interested in hearing about the types of surgery (or non-surgery helps) that anyone has had. This is all very new to me but I know knowledge is power and the more I find out the better. Thank you in advance!

Idaho Girl,
The information you posted contains very little background, so I would suggest the following: Review the Tarlov Cyst Disease Foundation website, and the site of Dr. Frank Feigenbaum. You can spend some time reviewing posts on this forum to learn what has worked, and not worked, for other patients with symptomatic Tarlov cysts. In my experience the only long term relief from symptomatic Tarlov cysts is the surgical procedure performed by Dr. Feigenbaum. The pre- and post-op care that you must provide yourself will have an impact on the outcome of your surgery. Three years after surgery I have no symptoms related to my previously symptomatic Tarlov cyst. |

I felt very comfortable traveling to Dallas to have Dr. F do the surgery. He is very knowledgable and has performed hundreds of these surgeries. If you have any questions, I will try to answer them for you. Kim |
