Default I had the H1N1, now the DH is sick!

Oh good gravy! I had the H1N1 and wasnt happy for days and days. The DH woke yesterday with a fever, and a sore throat. He is being a true baby, and doesnt want to see the MD. Said since I am the only other person in the house, and I have already had it, whats the point in taking all those pills? He is whiney, mopey, and grouchy. I have demanded that he go back to bed, and have filled him full of soup, and giner ale. He isnt nauseous, he is just feverish, and has a sore throat.

Called the MD while the DH was asleep, and he said it doesnt matter if this is H1N1 or the regular flu, Stay in bed, rest, stay out of public spaces, and if he wants he can have an antiviral med like Tamiflu or the other one. Since I know the DH will refuse to take the silly pills the MD said there is no real need to drag him in to infect the rest of the waiting room, or staff. Since I am already past danger of catching it, just keep him comfy, and call if his fever is 104 or he cant stop coughing with help from meds.

Anyone else have a hubby that isnt good at being sick? You would think he had a leg amputated or something. Its gonna be a long week.

oh yeah mine came home and gave me walking pneumonia a few months ago....check this out...the ER doctor gives him morphine and keeps him in a recliner for most of the day. When I get it, they gave me antibiotic and sent me home. Why did they give him morphione you ask? To knock him out so he would stop whining! It amazes me men are the big bad protectors, yet they turn into little babies when they are sick. put the tamiflu in his gingerale and don't tell him.

If DH gets sick, the world stops turning. His misery is always greater than anyone else's. He grumbles and feels sorry for himself and complains. You have my sympathy.

OMG! If my DH even gets a head cold he whines about how sick he is. I, personally, do not consider a head cold as "being sick". It's just a flippin cold deal with it - most people get 4 or 5 a year. Maybe that is unsympathetic of me, but life goes on!

OMG! he has dragged himself out to the couch, all wrapped up in his blankets, and has dragged the cat over to his side to comiserate with him. He is watching bloody, gross, horrible things on TV. Every two minutes its "do I feel warm? Can you take my temp again? is it 104 yet? can I get something more to drink? Is this all we have? dont we have any regular coke or pepsi? do we have any of those lil crackers i saw on TV the other day? Is it warm in here? is it too cold in here? Can I get a different glass, I dont like this one! Do we have any..." Sigh!

btw his temp is 99.4 not exactly record breaking. I cant believe he was in the Marine corp.

I love this man, God knows he has put up with alot from me, but dang! I am trying to do laundry, meal prep for the whole week, vacuuming, the heat came on last night, so I am steam cleaning the baseboard radiators so we dont have that burnt dust smell in the house, chasing a sick cat, and have a nosey neighbor that keeps wanting to pop in for a quick sec. I keep telling her that Frank has the H1N1 STAY AWAY! Sheesh! So, my hands are very full, and the worst part is that I know today isnt the worst day of this thing. he has a few more days to go before he hits the highlights, and starts to feel better.

Anyone got any spare tranquilizers?

My sympathies to Frank... more to you!!

My hubby is just the opposite. He piles in bed, under the blankets and doesn't move or grumble. I actually have to go in and take his temp, push fluids and food. I think he is this way because he grew up with 6 siblings and he being the oldest was not top priority when they were all ill. He would just rather be left alone to sleep.
