Default Hoping that I just have a cold!

I have had a bit of a sore throat since Sunday and have been coughing (but not terribly). Today, I have been sneezing constantly and have a runny (gone through a box of tissues) nose. I am also really tired, but that is not really new. I have not had any chills or fever so I am hoping that this is your basic head cold. I did stay home from school today. We have an unspecified number of students that are now sick and a few have been hospitalized.

Barb - Keeping everything crossed that it is just a head cold. Let us know how you are doing.

*tkrik covering mouth and nose handing Barb a box of kleenex.*:

DD18 and her friend were just here and they were telling me that a lot of kids in the dorm as well as their classes have colds.

hang in there, Barb. Drink some hot tea and take care of that cold. I am going to stick to that thought as opposed to the flu.

Either way, get well sooner than later.

Sounds like the cold I just got over. It lasted 3 weeks but no fever. Keeping my fingers crossed that you just have a cold!

The runny nose, and lack of fever make me suspect you have a cold not the flu. The flu makes you feel like someone hit you with their car. You are exhausted just making a cup of tea. You get hot/sweaty, and loopy to just sit and watch TV.

I hope you feel better quickly! Colds suck!

You got that right. I always have said it's like you have been hit by a truck. And that's an understatement. You will know when you have the flu. Having had the Asian Flu, the Hong Kong Flu - both pandemics - I can attest to it. Actual flu is awful.

You get up and get the can of soup. You have to sit down and rest. You get up and open the can and you sit down and rest. You get it in the pan on the stove and rest. You eat a little and rest. You spend your time on the couch with the horrible cough, horrible sore throat and fever and your sweaty body. And, I was young when I had these and healthy.

The actual flu is awful. A really bad cold is no picnic either.

Aw Barb. Let us know what the doctor says, and then get yourself into jammies and slippers and robe and get some rest.
