As a lover of precious cats, please don't suggest they get one of those, either! They don't particularly like being left for extended periods of time!

I'm glad someone is looking out for the doggie.

I agree, Cats are also very social animals, but can tolerate being left for longer periods of time without pooping your house up. I have cats (all rescue) and the oldest is 22. They like to have company, and are great animals to own. I dont think these two should have a pet rock! let alone anything alive.

The dog warden called at 8 this morn. Those folks got home at midnight! He had tacked a notice on their door that they were in violation, and trouble, to call no matter the hour when they arrived home. It was past midnight when they got home. The dog warden said they are having to provide proof of ownership to the dog, proof of vet care, and proof of adequate accomodations. He said they are receiving a nice fine for leaving him yesterday, and if they cannot provide assurances to him, he will remove their animal, by court order if needed.

I am leaving this in the hands of the dog catcher man. He is hot on their trail, and not happy with the answers he is getting. I gave him the home owners phone number in case he needs permission to enter the home. Me? I cant take the drama. I am allowing it to fade off. I have asked the warden to let my DH know the results. it breaks my heart to even think about that doggie.

I hope they take the doggie away. As I said, they dont need to have a pet rock, let alone an animal.

I'm glad you turned them in. Our neighbors used to have a beautiful black lab named Barney (about 15 years ago.) They left him out on a chain all the time and he would cry a lot, especially in the winter. He kept escaping out of desperation to run and exercise. The wife would constantly scream at him to shut up.

One time he came into our yard to make friends with me and our cat we had then, Tiger Puff. He was just precious and I felt so bad for him.

One day he was gone and I don't know if he ran away for good, or if he was taken away.

You're so nice to help out with that dog and I hope he'll end up with owners who'll appreciate him.

Dej, last to read your thread. My mouth fell open. I am a dog
lover. Was so happy to read that you reported them and that the
dog warden is taking care of them.

They don't even deserve a flea.

It is horrible that people with money think that they can do anything
that they want to do even when it will hurt someone.

Keep us updated on what the outcome of it all will be.

I agree w/ MSD. You helped the dog. Forget about the people. People can be entitles ***** h****. or just plain ungrateful b******s. You did not have to take care of doggie but you did, being a good neighbor and wanting to help out the dog. That is all you need to focus on.

Dejibo,
I am in awe of your righting a wrong. It's really hard but you did it. It's easier to turn a blind eye, as many do, but you didn't. You're the one I want watching over my kids, my pets, me, when I can't, doing the right thing for those who can't speak for themselves.

The dog has been REMOVED! from their home. They were unable/unwilling to provide documentation to the dog warden that would satisfy his needs, AND after catching them leaving the dog home alone in a small crate all day, they did it AGAIN! He has taken the doggie from their care, and they have till Nov 11 which is their court date to show up and prove vet care, dog walking care, and must pay off all outstanding fines due, in order to retrieve their doggie. She keeps screaming that she "works for" a vet, and that is proof enough of what care the dog receives. The dog warden isnt buying it.

yeah! The DW is taking the baby home with him and his wife till court. The local shelter is crammed full, and he felt this timid pup had been put through enough, so he is fostering him. He is teaching him leash manners, and how to be part of a family, not just hide in your crate.

I was so angry! I was so hurt! I was so emotional over this whole thing. I am glad the pro's are handling it. btw, I called the landlord, who has given them 30 days notice to move. they have a month by month contract, and animals are not supposed to be on the lease, but an exception was made because she claimed she worked for a vet and took this animal with her to work everyday. She claimed this was a "foster dog" and would have a permanent home in 60 days. To the warden she claims this is his forver home. Since notice was served to their address for this animal, and laws were violated while living there...out you go! I have gone and changed the alarm codes, and such so they have no access to the main house while in the eviction process. The owners are true dog lovers who throw birthday parties for their animals. This crushed them.

round and round we go.
