Default The amount of irony it takes to be me is exhuasting!

So I got my tubes tied at the end of last month. Been having a lot of MS related probs ever since, then started having some girl related probs so I ended up back at the doc today....

I have post tubal ligation syndrome she says. And what do we do to treat this?

I go to the pharmacy in a few minutes to pick up my shiny new pack of birth control pills!

You know, the ones my insurance wouldn't pay for bc they don't cover birth control, but they do cover the tubal...well, since they are being prescribed as a treatment after the surgery, now they are covered.

This is my life.

I hear ya. I got my tubes tied and now going through the change.

I was watching one of those sex change shows. Gotta wonder WHO would want to be a woman? if they had to deal with really being a woman, they would NOT do it. It's not all about purty dresses and make-up, lol.

Legzz, I was thinking of you while on the phone a minute ago. My friend had her large bowel removed 2 weeks ago b/c she couldn't go to the bathroom. Well, she Still can't go!

I've never heard of "post tubal ligation" syndrome. Is this temporary so that you don't have to continue taking The Pill?

Short term solution? Nah that would be too easy. LOL And we all know I don't do anything the easy way.

If the pill doesn't work (so far, 3 pills in still no improvement) then we get to go in for an ultra sound on my uterus and start hormone shots.

If those don't work we will be taking out said uterus.

Why anyone would want to be a woman I don't know. But I did get to see a man made woman once. LONG story involving a friend from high school who decided to get the operation... it's just wrong on so many levels. the main one being he was such a cute boy! But it was scary! SCARY!!

Post Tubal Ligation Syndrome is the doctors way of saying oops, we messed up your uterus, and your tubes may be over reacting to being pulled up and capped with a little band.

Speaking of terminology... IF you are pregnant, we call them "contractions" , but if you have your tubes tied and take 2 birth control pills a day we call them "uterine spasms"! I simply call them "ouch ouch ouch make it stop!"

Oh geez, I'm sorry you are having this problem. From one thing to another. At least the pills will be covered - this time.

Oh that is not even fair, having the contractions and not even getting a cute little baby out of it.

My doc warned me about that too - I'd never heard, prior. Did not have any probs with that but could feel the tubes wiggling off and on for about a year after. Not painful, just kind of creepy. The doc said that was pretty common.

No women I talked to said they'd had that, but who knows...

Well the funny part is... The "Post Tubal Ligation Syndrome" symptoms are all the same as MS symptoms most of which I was having before the surgery so trying to differentiate between the two is difficult.

For example: Depression, crawling feeling on your skin, electrical feeling, hot flashes, night sweats, insomnia, fatigue.... These are the questions the doctor asked about. And I said yes to all of them and then I laughed when I said "But I had all those before the surgery... add some optic neuritis in there and you'd be sending people for MRIs".

There is good news! Pill #4 seemed to lessen the main problem. And Baclofen really helps with the spasms, it no longer feels like my uterus is trying to run away. Today, anyways. So, hopefully, we are regainaing a bit of normal and following up with neuro on Monday.
