Default Ongoing insurance saga

We had our first face to face interview with an agent today. We have had a couple of huge un-understanable packets sent to us and had some phone interviews but it's nice to sit down with someone. With all my medicine and fear of something happening it was decided that it would be better if we just went on Cobra for one month since DH wants to quit Dec 1 and Medicare Advantage wouldn't start until 1/1/10. He will get a nice payout of all remaining vacation days, paid time off and a good bit of accumulated sick time. That will more than cover that one month of Cobra. She did mention Medigap which I had never heard of before. Anyone here have that. She assumed I was at least 65 since I had Medicare. I am 59 and I don't think I look 65!

So now we just have to weed through all the stacks of policies of pre 65 non Medicare and my Medicare policies to choose from starting 1/1.
