I am sorry I fell away from my duties as the grim reaper around here, but I have another to report.
Soupy Sales passed away last night at the age of 83 http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/33442972/?gt1=43001 I am sad. Growing up my family would gather around the TV and watch him and laugh. Watching people you grew up around, or watched on TV/movies etc. die is a crappy part of getting old. <sigh> Rest In Peace Soupy. Rest in Peace

This is so sad. He started in my area with a lunchtime show.
I used to come home for lunch and watch him every day. White Fang, Black Tooth and Pooky! He did this for years before going National! He was so funny and such a character! R.I.P Soupy!

Aw! RIP, Soupy.
I met him when I was a tot (about 4), at a Christmas party. He tried to get all us little kids to do the Hokey Pokey. I was afraid of him and wouldn't go, lol.

I was so sad to hear of Soupy's passing...I loved to watch him when I was young. I remember once the staff pulled a stunt on Soupy and had a stripper off camera when he opened the door...he was uncontrollable with laughter...way too much for a youngster to see...yet I got it

When my boy was 4, we went to a birthday party. They had a person dressed up like Winnie-the-Pooh. DS crawled under a kitchen chair and periodically yelled "Don't look at me, bear". He never liked Chuck E. Cheese either (Big rat character at kid play place - but they did have a semi sadist or idiot in suit, I had to yell at him). Soupie Sales was great! At school in morning we talked about his show the previous day. I feel like bits of my childhood are going away every time we lose someone. I think I'll remember George Carlin as Mr Conductor on Shining Times Station (Thomas the Tank Engine, etc) better than my then little kids will.
