Default Not Good News

To recap, my DH had his right kidney removed because of cancer this past January.

He went in last week and had CT scans. They discovered that he has metastases in his lungs, that the kidney cancer has spread.

We have an appointment Thursday with an oncologist, who will be setting up chemotherapy for him. It will last one month, not every day, and will consist of a mixture of IV's, shots, and pills.

One good thing is that three years ago they didn't have this protocol, and survival rates were low and short.

He is ready to start chemo as soon as possible.

We're trying to stay positive, but it's only been nine months and there is already spread of the cancer.

Please keep Arnold in your thoughts and prayers.

I'm very sorry to hear your news, Maryann.

The outlook is not as grim as it used to be. There is more technology and more hope.

My good wishes and prayers are around you both.

Oh my, Maryann! That's too bad! No wonder I didn't see you in the Trivia room yesterday.

I'm so very sorry for your dear Arnold. I pray that he will be able to withstand the chemo and recover quickly.

Maryann

Prayers for both you and your DH being said now. Sally's right......there is so much more that can be done to treat this condition than there was even just a few years ago. Thank goodness you caught it and he's a candidate for treatment. Please keep us updated on his progress. 's to both of you.

Well, crap, Maryann. That just bites. Of course I'll be praying for him, and for you.
