Default Update on the sniffly sneezing, sore tummy, whiny DD

ARRRRGGGGHHH!!

So the wake up call was at 12:30 this morning. And we were up until... heck if I know. But when my alarm clock went off this morning I decided school was out and it was time to call the doc again. Her allergy thing has turned into ANOTHER sinus infection. Good news is the normal doc we see was in today (the other one is the one that kept brushing us off). Told the nurse I realize she is scheduled for tomorrow but she is sick today! So they said bring her on in.

Yup, Sinus Infection #3 since beginning of October. YAY! And the doc thinks the tummy thing could be from the sinus drainage or from food allergies... she also decided we needed to go in for Xrays of her sinus cavity to check for polyups or abnormal masses. So we spent all day at the hospital taking pictures of my DD's booger factory. Good news is...it's just a sinus infection.

Bad news is... last one she gave me lasted 11 days even with antibiotic.

Can't test for food allergies while she is sick, can't test while she is on an antihistimine, but every time we take her off the antihistimine she gets a sinus infection... so now we wait it out.

And on the way home I was told the insurance approved the TY. Then i was told the infusions can be done only during the week and only at 8 am. Which means getting to the hospital by 7:45... and I can't drop DD off at school before 8:00... so this should be fun to work out.

So you had a kind of good news/bad news kind of day. I'm glad to hear it's a regular sinus infection and nothing worse. Even though it will take her so long to get over! And no sense in trying to figure out the food allergy if her sinus infection may be what is causing her tummy aches. Good news about the TY, except for the times. Maybe you can find someone to take your DD to school (a fellow student's mom?) or is there something the school can do to help you out and allow you to drop her off early those mornings you need to go?

Ugh, I don't miss that up all night with the sick kid thing at all! But I remember, before they did all the tests, when they just took a good ol' guess what is the most likely cause of allergies. Hope they sort all this out for you soon.
