Default DH is having open heart surgery tomorrow!

It started Sunday at 3:00 am when he woke me and said he had a little headache and felt a bit nauseous. He took his blood pressure and it was 195/95.

I called 911 and he went to the hospital where he was in ER 10 1/2 hrs because ER is slammed with flu patients and assorted druggies looking for a "fix".

The next morning they started an angiogram and intended to put stents in but blockages were too many and too deep so they backed out.

He is having surgery tomorrow and I have faith in GOD, the Doctors and hospital staff so we know he is in good hands.

He has always had good health and was nearly taken by a silent killer. I am so glad he woke me instead of just taking an antacid and going back to bed.

His nurse called it a widowmaker!

Janie, how scary!

I agree -- glad he woke you instead of having that typical male mentality of: I'll tough it out.

You're too young to be a widow!

I pray everything goes well for your dear hubby during surgery. Sending hugs for both of you.

I hope everything goes smoothly for your DH, Janie. My Dad had open heart surgery when he was 78 and I was amazed at how quickly he recovered. Please keep us updated as to how he's doing. You're both in my prayers.

I have heard it said that after such a major operation, the patient feels so much better not realizing how weak the heart had gotten. So here is to feeling better!
