Default Amazon shipping irritation

I ordered some stuff one wednesday. Some stuff for my nieces in NY State, and some books that are Xmas presents for my dad here at home.

I ordered the stuff for my nieces about two hours before I ordered the books for my dad. I got a shipping confirmation for my dad's stuff the night I ordered it...like within two or three hours!

Still havent gotten a shipping confirmation for the stuff I got my nieces. Paid for the 2day shipping for that too. (of course, that's two day shipping from when it's shipped...not that it'll be shipped immediately and be there in two days. It's when Amazon gets around to it.)

So, I'm sitting here, watching for my dad's stuff, since the tracking info says it's out and on the truck and will be here at some point today. (I did regular shipping for his stuff...not two day delivery...weird that it's here first, and within two days)

Wish they'd hurry up with the stuff for my nieces...their presents are more important that my dad's. They need to be able to open this stuff on Xmas day...not on Epiphany. (anyone else here ever get presents on Epiphany?)

I've always gotten excellent service with Amazon. And I never, ever go with anything but standard delivery service. It usually gets here in the same amount of time that they charge you for express delivery.....unless you get next day air. Maybe they just put everything together in the same delivery. I love Amazon!

I think a lot depends on where the ordered items come from, if amazon has to order from another company and that other company is slow....

But since it has been since Wednesday and no shipping info at all??, you might try to email Amazon and ask them to double check the order...
usually there is an info note of some sort..on your account order page if another seller is being used.

I've always had EXCELLENT service with Amazon, and the one time something wasn't just right, they fixed it in a heartbeat. I would wear one of those sweatshirts that says: I Amazon.com.

Quite right, Erin. I am also a frequent user of Amazon and in the past year, the time between order confirmation and shipping has become pretty ridiculous. A few weeks ago, my in-stock and shipped-by-Amazon order did not leave the warehouse before 8 days had passed.

If you look on the Amazon bulletin boards, you'll see that this is bothering a lot of previously loyal customers.

It's almost as if they're resting on their collective laurels as the biggest and taking customer loyalty for granted.

I've found several .coms that will match the Amazon price when asked. The catch is the shipping.

Kell, exactly! The 2-day shipping is just a gimmick, I've used it and it is only USPS Priority, same as a regular ship without the colored tape/printing.

Always!! Kindle, aero Bed, never problems but once kinda in 9 years and fixed before I pointed it out. Amazon one of few I really trust. I have an account. My CC on file, purchase with one-click. I was one of first buyers of Kindle. When I killed it with a spilled bottle of water (full on right on Kindle and thing only 3 days old!!) they replaced it at no cost ($250.00 item with no problem ASAP and put every Kindle book I'd bought into new one). I do heart Amazon.

I recently tried to order something from amazon, and after the order was confirmed, I got a letter telling me the shipment would be delayed, and it would arrive between Jan 15 and Jan 22 Are they kidding? So, I went back and cancelled the order, waltzed over to Walmart.com and got the same thing. it arrived 3 days later. The Shipping was 50cents more than amazon. Even tho Amazon had my order IN stock, it was the processing of my order that was delayed.

You gotta love the Christmas rush.

Amazon must like me. If they give me a date, it always gets changed to one earlier and comes real soon. They told me aero bed on back-order - gave me a date it would come which was after MIL due to arrive. Like living on the edge (and hey, not my Mom) so ordered. Got it before MIL came with a day to spare.

might not be amazon's fault. But then again it might be. For some reason amazon has a habit of not sending me emails to let me know when someone places an order for any of my products. So I have to check it every day just in case. Sometimes it sends the email sometimes it does not. But I would definitely contact them.
